Worked my way back up to the cobra again and blinged it out, even replaced the bulkheads (don't make any difference as far as I can see) and stopped trading to visit the Fed distress beacon and they seem have made the AI better and given the Sidewinders beam lasers. Got some klls and nearly got killed myself but got out when my hull was below 50%. Just couldn't seem to maneuver on them to get shots in, my missiles killed most of them smile

Anyway, got interdicted on my way to Azeban City and again it was a Sidewinder and took my shields down so fast and my hull to 30%! I bugged out and finally got to the station, flying through the docking port and trying to get around the AI who love to stop there a player comes full speed out like an idiot, I swerve and accidentally press my boost....they're still scraping me off the back wall of the station apparently.

So, fortunately I have enough for insurance and replace my ship and all equipment and sell it for a Lakon Type 6. 100 tons capacity so I can really start to make some money and I'm making a lot each run.

I plan on getting the Type 9 and fitting it out like a frigate smile

That's a good return! What are you trading, and from where to where?

I'm currently doing the iBootis/Aulin - Fish/Agri. Medicines ring and getting good profits for 100 tons each way.

My favourite trade loop is an expensive one, but it grants dosh in a dash.
You take off from Azeban - Eranin with whatever works for you (I do coffee) and delivery to Aulin - Aulin for a nice bit of dosh. The big deal is the ride back. Fron Aulin - Aulin to Azeban - Eranin with progenitor cells.

They're really expensive so you need a good amount of ka-ching to start proper.
But there's a net of over 700creds for ton.

Which isn't bad.
The only thing is it's a leap-two loop. (Two jumps for leg- let's create some professional lingo here)
Good loop though.

700Cr profit per TON?! I'm trying that tonight lol

I use the Best Price Calculator http://www.oisltest.com/DM/BPC/ whilst i'm flying. I have Elite added to Steam and use the Steam interface to bring up the browser and use that way as ED doesn't like to be ALT-TABBED.

Also, on Reddit, here's a Type 9 taking down an Annaconda http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/2d74io/the_l9_smells_blood/ turned out to be expensive for repairs and munitions but it can be done biggrin

I wants me a Type 9 smile

Yep. It yields a lot. But it's a very dangerous route. Be always mindful that if you leave no dosh for the insurance, should anything go wrong you lost everything.
Exactly what happened to me.

I went from a fully iron assed Viper mk3 to nothing in a single fast expanding cloud of hot gases...

Terrain Enrichment Systems from Aulin to iBooitis are 700cr profit each. You should shift from AgroMeds to them as soon as you can (ie buy as many TES you can, then fill out the rest of cargohold with AgroMeds until you can afford all TESs).

Hopped in a Type 6 last night. My run has been Aulin Advanced Catalysers to Surya, running Surya Tantalum back.

- Selling the ACs at Surya (with a 100 ton cargo bay) nets 73,100 credits (731 profit each)

- Selling Surya Tantalum at Aulin nets 95,410 credits (1015 profit each)

Considering it's two jumps between the systems in the Type 6 (need to stop in between at Opala IIRC) it's pretty lucrative. The Type 6 has an insane range and a nice cargo bay; the only thing to watch out for in that clumsy boat is pirates.

I did this one last night and made my first million smile but the Type 6 runs hot after a jump so use heatsinks between them. I did have 2 turreted beam lasers but sold them after I got interdicted and I didn't target him, never even turned to look as just boost to get out, but my turrets opened up on him and I got a bounty on me! He was a pirate and was after me but for some unknown reason my guns opened up. Run without guns now anyway.

Couple more million and ill have a Type 9 smile . Does anyone know how much Anacondas cost?

whilst the millions are rolling in using legitimate commodities and trade routes, is it possible yet to live on the edge and deal in narcotics, illegal fire arms and dabble in the black market - i want to be a trader not a fighter but like the idea of a been a bit edgier than a space faring Eddie Stobart

I thought it a bit daft that when selling cargo picked up that then becomes illegal at an anarchy system you still have to sell through the black market and for half of what you'd get in the normal market. Surely they'd take it in an anarchy system.

Mace a Type 9 runs about 3 mil, and an Anaconda runs a little short of 7 mil if I remember right. Keep in mind that's not factoring in the millions you'll spend on outfitting the thing.

7 mil for the Anaconda? Wow. But shouldn't take long when I get the Type 9 smile

Were going to get a shock when they make money harder to come by but I welcome that as it is waaaay too fast now, but they are only ramping it up like this to test.

Yeah I've been playing for a week and I can already afford everything but the biggest two ships in the game.

Which isn't necessarily bad considering it's primarily a PvE game. I never played the original Elite games but I liken it to a new Freelancer.

I picked up a Hauler specifically to save up for a Cobra. A few trade runs between iBootis and Aulin, and I've got a shiny new Cobra w/ jut as much cargo space as a Hauler, but the firepower capability of two or more Sidewinders!

just got my foot in the door on a cobra ... as Brennus said far better for a trader than the hauler ... hold more and you dont have to runaway quite so often

Just bought a Cobra today, nice ship. A few more fish-runs (I hope I get the smell out off the ship someday... :-) ) for outfitting it and then I`ll go out exploring a few more systems.
