The Great Escape, Maverick, Rockford Files. Loved him "reprising" his role in the Mel Gibson movie.

Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

RIP

Didn't realize he was as old as he was. In 1980 when Rockford Files went off air he would have been ~52, same age as I am now. Time flies.

RIP to one of the very few Hollywood greats left.

A loss for sure.
I enjoyed his movies.

Sad news, RIP James Garner

"Car & Driver: Looking back, is there anything youd have done differently?

James Garner: Im a country boy out of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl who came to Hollywood, got famous, made some money, traveled the world and met all kinds of people, and had great friends and a wonderful family. Would I have done anything differently? Hell, no!"

RIP, sir.

My favourite movies with him are The Great Escape, Grand Prix, and Space Cowboys.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

RIP. I loved his role as the grandfather in "8 Simple Rules".

Oh no! So many great roles!
Of the more recent ones, I thought Space Cowboys was really good, almost a fictional, light-hearted sequel to The Right Stuff.

As for his older work, it's a clear favorite, part of the best 1-2 punch of racing movies:

He will really be missed.

his passing makes me sad. I always looked forward to Maverick as a kid. One of the few shows that I planned around so I wouldn't miss it, back before we could record and time shift.

Very sad, loved Rockford Files and Space Cowboys. RIP.

Space Cowboy was great. The chemistry between Garner, Eastwood, Sutherland and Jones was excellent.
