I was sitting here thinking about games I'd love to see made because if done well, could be highly entertaining and unique.
I would really, really like a story heavy, RPG/open world Rocketeer game. With an interesting time period where lore or alternate lore could be created chock full of bizarre and interesting comic book characters set in the 30s and 40s with an emphasis on any and everything aviation related.
Be able to pilot multiple vintage and experimental aircraft. Have your own base and hanger for aircraft and rocket pack "crafting" and research and development. Have a huge world to fly and explore in with varying environments. Basically a mash up of the golden era of aviation and Indian Jones style adventure and lore combined.
Spare no expense with aerodynamics modeling, damage modeling, physics, character animation/customization, day night and weather and on and on and on and so on and so forth.
I'd like to see Crimson Skies next generation and perhaps a game franchise built off the idea of the movie League of Extraordinary Gentleman.

MS
Chromehounds from the Xbox 360, but put on pc and made 1st person. Just re-release it like that, the original game was just fine, no need to change it more than moving the camera to the cockpit. Reviews weren't good, like with sims, the reviewers just didn't get what the game was. It was highly tactical and not fast moving like Armored Core. The persistent war was brilliant and would take anywhere from a few days to a couple of months for a faction to finally win and get it reset.
Steel Battalion from original Xbox. I want the controller it had required too, of course. That would keep everyone on the same playing field.
(start up sequence/gameplay around 2:20)
The monster controller it came with that you had to have:
EF2000 by DID, and its variants. But I'd want to have a few more jets flyable: A-10, Tornado, F-22.
I just loved the sense of speed, the sneaking around in deep strike, multirole missions...vast spectacular terrain...the dynamic campaign.

Crimson Skies was a fantastic game, I had so much fun with that. Great atmosphere, voice acting, and the alternate reality levels were all very well made. Dogfights over Hollywood with the incredibly agile autogyros were fantastic fun! Microsoft really hit the nail on the head with that game.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
