Oh and I've asked everywhere and it seems there are no plans to release the series on bluray. That's too bad because the pixelation is noticeable on the DVD release It's especially noticeable in the early seasons when they used 16mm film instead of the standard 35mm.

You won't get pixelation from 16mm vs 35. It's purely based on the level used for scanning. Today they scan at 4k, in fact starting as far back as 2006 or so when they did the Bond film restorations. It's quite possible the early DVD sets of the X Files were scanned at 480p or something. They could remaster them, still put them out on DVD, and they'd look better. If you ever watch the DVD in a BD/DVD set and compare it to the original DVD-only release you'll usually notice the new DVD looks better, even though it's still putting out the same 480p res.

My top TV show of all time. Too bad the movies following the TV show didn't live up to the hype.

The Jedi Master Yeah you're right. I was thinking about the grainy look of the early seasons episodes and not the pixelation.

Too bad the movies following the TV show didn't live up to the hype. Movies? There was just one after the show went off the air and yes, it was disappointing. "Fight the Future" which came out in 1998 (between the end of season 5 and the beginning of season 6) is damn good imho.

Last episode I saw was from season 1 called Eve.
...
Fun Fact: That is where the band "Eve 6" got their name.
