Brazil looked OK, and Germany, whom I picked to win it, may have enough. Argentina has to get through or it will be deemed Messi's problem, and the Dutch, could just do it this year.
My claim to fame, watching every game to date, OK, so not live, but still, it has been wonderful.
Cheers,

PS where's England???

...which will make these Semi much easier for you.... Only the Dutch or the Argentinian now will be able to deny you a 4th world cup... I hope the Dutch will make it, they deserve a WC after 3 bad finals. the Dark horse could be the Belgian if they can strike sooner and better in the game...

I didn't watch the game Brazil-Colombia. But seeing the long resume on CBC, I am sad for Neymar aswell, I hope the Colombian player will be suspended by FIFA, it was such a deliberate aggression.
I hope Brazil have a good bench because without 2 key players, it will be hard for them against Germany. Still rooting for them, they are so amazing to watch when they play well.
I understand the lack of cards for the flow of the game, but in this case, the Spaniard referee completely lost it not giving earlier cards to control the dirty moves on both side.

Sour grapes?
I wasn't impressed by the play of the Germans (very lethargic). If they play like that vs Brazil, even hurting from injuries, the Brazilians will runs circles around them.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

The referee applied way too much laissez-faire, and that's what you get from it - people get seriously injured. (It's not like it was a completely one-sided affair; both teams were rather ... rustical in their actions).
Still, that Colombian player should be sued for battery, and the referee as his accomplice. It's not going to happen, of course. At least both the referee and the COlombian player should lose their FIFA licenses.
The captain's out because of his own, and quite needless, stupidity. Brasil deserved that. But Neymar's injury was no fate. Couldn't agree more. It was a terrible work from the referee. I understand to want to allow a fluid game, but if players do not behave as they should and make a fault after another, you better start giving yellow cards or the players action will go out of control. And it's exactly what happened here.

At least we won... Messi almost scores there at the end... not impressed. Now Holland will, erm, make love to us. I hope the take us to a nice restaurant first. btw, it's interesting to see Brazilians paying tickets to go to Argentina games to root for the other team. I don't know if locals have discount tickets or what, but those things were expensive. They even made us change the historical chant of "those that don't jump are English" to those that don't jump are Brazilian!
When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".
