Another hard lesson: it's not over until the referee blows the whistle. Awkward situation now: if Germany and the US tie in the next game, both will move on to the next round. Klinsmann and Lw are good friends. So everyone will suspect a "non-aggression treaty" in the making. Question is: do you do the "honorable" thing and risk going home early, or do you "cheat" and play in the next round?

USA= Amateurs... basic rule: keep the ball in the last minutes of a game!!! Damm you had the chance to boot out Portugal, fo Xsake!
Too many basic errors and lack of finishing from the Americans, this Portugal was so winable! Ronaldho was a complete fluke, and the team just put all handbrakes after the first goal...

Portugal can still go through to the next phase if Germany beats US by 2 goals and Portugal beats Ghana by 3 goals for example.
Basically since the goal difference between Portugal and US is 5 for each goal that US suffers, Portugal has to score one less goal against Ghana.
Some examples:
Ger 1-0 US Por 4-0 Gha
Ger 2-0 US Por 3-0 Gha
Ger 3-0 US Por 2-0 Gha
So basically it's possible but unlikely.

Disappointing ending, but a great game to watch. I can't help but feel that Michael Bradley is more a liability then a help these days. Felt like he did nothing all game, and it seemed that his passes were lethargic and off-target.
All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the corps!

2 big mistakes by Cameron. Ugh, how crucial is the save by the Portugal defender against Bradley's tap in. Great game, huge disappointment.

USA= a bit Amateurish... basic rule: try to keep the ball in the last minute of a game!!! Damm, you had the chance to boot Portugal out, for Xsake! Too many basic errors ( first goal, the US keeper is on his back; such big chances to score with a goal all open and Bradley choose to fire on the last Portugal defender... ) and global lack of finishing from the Americans, this Portugal was so winnable! Ronaldo was a complete fluke, and Portugal put the handbrake after the first goal... in THIS world cup with thousand of goals, this was completely foolish!

Before the match, i though Portugal was gonna win by at least three goals. . During the match, being 2-1, i though USA had it on the pocket, but that Ronaldo (that did nothing the rest of the game) kick putting the ball on the goalkeeper area was just perfect and and stole the USA qualification. Too bad, i wanted USA to win, because i hate Ronaldo. I admit he is a great striker, but i hate the guy.

I think this diva should play for the Harlem Globe Trotters... seriously. As a teammate, he is worth nothing.

I don't get why they add five minutes to the clock at the end of the game with one side having a winning score, but no overtime to resolve a tie.
Soccer is weird.

Time is added to make for the wasted time when somebody dives or something like that happens, it has nothing to do with the scores.
At this point of the cup, there is no extra time because the idea is that the teams earn points. After the first round of groups is done, then they play to win/lose, because losers get eliminated, so they do have extra times of 30 minutes (15 and 15), and if they're still tied then they go to penalty kicks until one wins.

When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".
