Both "Storm of Swords" and "Feast for Crows" are rather slow-paced compared to the first two books, with the "flow" picking up again - considerably - in "Dance with Dragons", leading to one of the meanest cliffhangers in modern popular literature. So don't blame it on the show! The show is bound to the books, and has so far been for the most part very faithful to them. Some things get shortened and simplified, like the whole Sansa storyline, but the plot elements omitted are not important to the main story arc. Season 4 is very well done, but those who have read the books are probably better able to appreciate what they are doing.
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

So don't blame it on the show! The show is bound to the books, not quite - HBO decided to 'spice' the series with gratuitous nudity and needless gore, I watched every episode of Walking Dead, there you expect the gore and it is part of the story, and they don't make it the main theme. while GOT is now nothing more than a sequence of graphic senseless gore , so that adolescents can react like this : "gee - look the brain is splattered all over the floor ! WOW - HE CRUSHED THAT GUYS' SKULL !!! yeah !!! yuck! look !!! WTF and that after he gouged his eyes out ! yeah !!! and did you see his teeth flying ... that was mean MOFO ..." and there is hardly any dialogue worth mentioning, a 15 minute racap is enough and you can skip the whole season.

Jesus, give it a rest with the putting down of everyone who watches the show. Move on with your life.

I don't believe that this line of argument that you are using will get you very far in any discussion, certainly not with me Oh you're right. I'll try to get in tune with your manbaby way of going about this, call everyone dumb and childish because they like something you don't.

Hardly. The exchange alone between Tyrion and his brother in the prison was very good acting/storytelling. The series has been consistent, I know what to expect and am not disappointed.

I loved the beetle story. LOL Jaime and Tyrion always have good scenes together.

from the scene where Jamie lost his arm up to the fight in (if I recall it right) that pit with the Bear, that was epic. Graphic violence advanced the story - it was disgusting but not an end in itself , take the Red Wedding, it was a masterpiece. I am glad I was not eating something while I was watching yesterday´s episode I just watched the episode and honestly, I think you're overreacting. Yes, it was brutal and very grafic. But worse than a lot of other scenes? I don't think so. I've read all the books and so far the TV series is spot on with how I envisioned the world of GoT.

there is a scene where Arya and her friends have just been arrested and some soldiers are about to Garrot one of them (he also vanished from the story) that was very brutal, but again, it advanced the story, my point seems not being understood, now graphical violence IS the story, it is not the context anymore.
in Blade Runner, Riddley Scott cut off a similar scene where "dr eldon tyrell" dies, in the original version , that cut happend right before it became a 'grand guignol' .
Because otherwise that would be called a cheap trick , something no self respecting director wants to be accused of. In the Director's cut he added the complete bloody scene, by then of course Scott was no longer in his prime as a Director.

I think it's fair to say that the pay channels will work hard to capitalize on showing what others can't---in particular nudity/sex but also violence. The others are definitely catching up, you see things on broadcast tv that even 15 years ago would've caused a major uproar. Seems like I've seen a lot more of the eye gauging thing in the last year or so than ever, whereas it was usually implied off camera before. I can't put show/movie titles to it, but I do think there is an ever-present tendency to push the boundaries with effects like that where it might not be necessary. Not completely out of line for GoT, but I see where Tom's coming from. Someone here mentioned about a year or so ago that it seems like someone vomits in just about every movie, and many tv shows, just as a regular occurrence too. Why? Not necessary, but it's somehow commonplace now.

Eveeyone is entitled to their opinions and they can love or hate the show. Only confusing part will be complaining about it at the end of season 4 when sex and violence has been going on for a gopd 4 seasons. I mean do we really need two prostitutes banging each other while little finger gives the back story on Ned? Or is that ok because it was considered moving the plot along.
Anyway if you think season 4 is slow....well you may want to watch next two episodes where a lot will happen...after that Danve with Dragons was extremely slow....
