Have you not read the books? What exactly were you expecting? The mountajn and Oberyn will play a game of chess?

Loved it myself, but that kill was definitely gruesome. Not out of character considering the show's previous events though. I'm upset the season is almost over and it seems like we just started.

Erm, no, fantastic episode. If you are that delicate then don't watch it and put on some My Little Pony...

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

My opinion is, GOT replaced good storytelling with easy tricks that the French so well defined as Grand GuignolLe Théâtre du Grand-Guignol (...: "The Theater of the Big Puppet") – known as the Grand Guignol – was a theatre in the Pigalle area of Paris (at 20 bis, rue Chaptal (fr)). From its opening in 1897 until its closing in 1962, it specialized in naturalistic horror shows. Its name is often used as a general term for graphic, amoral horror entertainment, a genre popular from Elizabethan and Jacobean theatre (for instance Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, and Webster's The Duchess of Malfi and The White Devil), to today's splatter films. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Guignolif you flung a bucket full of dung in some actor's face that is not art. and the story has lost its momentum - nothing much is happening and we are watching everybody trading water. graphic, amoral horror entertainment = GOT 4th season.

I Facepalmed big time.. I loved that character, and for a good hour or so I kept repeating "i will not watch this enough eough enough"
And a notice to the parents. I am 39 and a firefighting pilot, I have seen a fair amout of real life #%&*$#. and still the show shakes my emotions. Not so much for the splatter of sex full frontal nudity. Mostly because of the hopeless depiction of the sad situations in which having a good cause will NOT make you win, not so often, not so easy. That "valar morghulis , everyone must die philosophy". you are left so hopless and frustated... It requires a great deal of maturity to eb accepted and efintely the show requires STRONG aprental guidance Agreed . It's not the violence that makes me a bit cold on this show at times, but the relentless nihilism. That said, some of the scenes are very neatly scripted.

The first 3 seasons were great and I bought the Blue Ray edition, this 4th season I continued watching in the hope of seeing more Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau & Gwendoline Christie and my favorite, Charles Dance. I don't mention Conleth Hill, he simply vanished from the series after a scene or two.
in the first 3 seasons : there were great scenes - the story was interesting, violence was part of the story, lots of fun.
in this 4th season : watching 5 minutes of a trollop belching is not what I call entertainment.
I stopped watching, going to wait for a Youtube version of the best moments when it is over.

Mind you, I have not seen season 4 but just read the synopsys of the episodes on IMDB, after spending the better part of the last three or four months reading the books.
Nevertheless, I tend to agree with the notion of loss of pace, though I'd say that it already started at season 3. But that is little surprising, considering that they more or less divided book 3 into two seasons. But that is also only half the truth as I see it, as I feel the same about the books. I am not sure about the reasons, more characters to follow, the success allowing him to expand beyond any initial plans, ...
Then again, it should not be surprising that the pace of some plots is sometimes rather slow, as there are vast spaces involved, long voyages etc. (Bran, Arya, Jon, Dany), while in the Riverlands and in Kings Landing a lot is happening in a short time span of maybe a few weeks. And from knowing the books now, it will more or less stay like that for quite a while, with one part becoming a focal point while others are in some kind of transition and building up for the next "surprise".

Who cares about the fight when someone who was in the episode for two minutes, stole the whole episode. Spoiler tag in case someone hasn't watched it yet. Arya busting out laughing when she found out her aunt was dead and the look on the hounds face. Just priceless!!!!!!!
