There is a Strike Fighters 2 WW2 Pacific mod at http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ (A-team Skunkworks), click on 'all-inclusive installs'. It is a little complicated to register, involving e-mails and such.

With all due respect, if that's the case (keeping mods private) why are they "teasing" or advertising their mods thru the Internet (in a public website)? This is like showing a bunch of kids some delicious candies but when some of those kids wants to buy/acquire them the owner says: You can't have them because I don't want to! IMO this doesn't make sense and it's again with all due respect a bit on the "sadist" side. And yes, the website registration really seems to be a "paint on the ass". I did everything they want (registered on their forum and their file download sites) but regarding to the file download site, I got a message that only on the 14th of July will my request be "potentially" processed - which from what I gather, there's a chance that it could be denied (pardon me if I'm wrong). Anyway like 5555 said, if there's another place where I could download these mods I would appreciate. Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, there is not. If you do get signed up, do not violate any of their restrictions or rules, accidentally or otherwise, because you will be insta-banned. There is always the option of piecing it together using the items available at CA.

I asked about this a while ago (here on SHQ, where we all act like adults...most of the time), and while I didn't get specifics, the gist was that someone said something to someone on combatace, and the response was "I'm taking the ball and going home." And I laugh at the idea of donating to that site. Anytime I re-install the SF series, I always do at least a one month pass to combat ace (usually wind up paying for about 3 months or so), as I'm happy to support what they do. Skunkworks on the other hand seems like a bunch of brats.

I must say that you're completely and totally correct and to prove this, this is what I received today in my E-mail as a reply to my file site access request: Eat your words, you'll never get access to our files now.

That's very bad form. One would be very tempted to tell them to take a long walk off a short pier, but we shouldn't stoop to that level.

I haven't used any of the A-Team stuff in many many years, but, based on the screenshots on their site, their stuff looks way outdated compared to the stuff available at combatace anyway.
I would post over in the WWII forum at combatace and just ask which files are the latest and greatest to download if you want to build a WWII install. I'm sure you'll be pointed in the right direction (although it may take a few days since Wrench is offline for a bit and he is the WWII expert when it comes to SF2).

I've never had a problem with the A-team website or their downloads. You have to register, but that is the same here and at CombatAce. I have heard of people being banned but the same thing can happen over at CombatAce, if you say something that the powers-that-be don't like. Every time I see someone who had been banned at the A-Team site, it seems to have been because of breaching the download rules (it is a free site, with limited bandwidth) or slagging off at the A-Team products at other sites, which I think is fair enough.
I have to say that their all-inclusive WW2 Pacific mod is the most amazing product I have on my PC, I fly it all the time. It has a huge range of aircraft, and contrary to malibu43's comment above, most of them are brand new models not otherwise available in this sim. Check out the P-38 Lightnings and the F6F Hellcats, and the J2M Raiden. There are all the aircraft you would expect, and unusual ones like the Wirraway and Vultee Vengeance, and even functioning Kamikazes aircraft (not player-flyable) and a player-flyable Betty bomber from which you can launch an Ohka rocket bomb!
There are four highly detailed historical terrains (Timor/Netherlands East Indies, Solomons, Central Pacific, and Okinawa), six different historical campaigns, and a huge range of ships including all the carriers on both sides. From the ReadMe the full list of available aircraft is:

I sure as hell have never seen something this ridiculous - a presumably non English speaking person (from Portugal) comes on here and is a tad surprised at the way the A-Team carry out their business - which looking at the written evidence seems reasonable for someone who doesn't know. Now if you have some actual evidence of similar cases where people have been banned on any other sites then I suggest you provide that before trying to suggest that what has just happened is in anyway normal or reasonable.

There's nothing better than having a site you attempt to sign up at cyber-stalk you, looking to see if at any time, anywhere you made a comment that could be construed as having been in any way, shape or form LESS than brown-nosing to its staff. The best part has to be that "if you want access, you must wait over a month...but we have the time right now to determine that you said something, somewhere we didn't like and can lock you out forever right now." Maybe if they didn't spend all their time looking to see if current and potential members were talking about them in any matter other "OMG AWESOM!!!!1111!" they'd have the time to grant people access in a timely manner and work on their actual mods. Of course, their packing up their stuff and leaving CA with little to no warning, apparently because they have the world record for fragile egos, takes the cake. You know who does that? My 3 yr old daughter. She'll be rough-housing and giggling and you say "Hey, calm down a little, you're going to get hurt!" and within 10 seconds she's running away crying her eyes out and hiding in another room.
