I tried to watch it last night and I got to the part where the sibling are back at their old home and the sister is just ranting through the past cases.
The acting is horrendous when she does that and the poor pacing and poor editing of that whole long scene doesn't help either..
What's in the box? C'mon, what's in the boooox?

The Jedi Master Yes I did! The Horror of the horrible acting! When she was recounting all the past cases going back centuries and pulling out the photos and newspaper articles, it looked like she was reading her lines real fast from a teleprompter!

The problem was you failed to realize what type of horror film it was.
Not all horror is scary. Some is mundane and banal, like signing execution orders in 3rd world countries. Congrats on picking one of those types of films to watch!

That's what type of horror film it was.
It's not meant to be scary, it's meant to have horrific acting.

I got to the part where she was changing the spotlight's light bulb and she put one of the broken bulbs on the counter top next to the apple she was eating.
I immediately knew what was going to happen next and I was correct.
She picked up the light bulb thinking it was an apple and bit into it, of course she was under the influence of the evil artifact.
All done to death before.
I turned it off.
Horrible movie!
