I played it for a bit at lunch and holy #%&*$# it is a good game. It is still missing a whole lot of stuff and I would love to see how it compares to SC (but the PU is so far out there is no way to compare it even if the DFM launches).
I think this is going to get a LOT of play time. Even in it's current form the free range nature means there is so much to do and see already. Now I just need to convince my other squadies to buy it.

I haven't had time yet to dive into the "sandbox", but my first impression of the v1.0 BETA, as compared to the v1.1 ALPHA, is that the progress between builds is subtle but very solid!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is already the space sim I've been waiting for since the original Wing Commander. I'm impressed by everything I've seen, and everything that Frontier has presented, and I can't wait 'til tomorrow night when I finally get some free time to jump online!
Which brings me to another topic. SimHQ Elite: Dangerous multi-player. I'll be online tomorrow night after work @ ~9PM EST. Feel free to join me...

I don't know how we would join another player in MP. Not sure we can yet and its not one huge server like EVE.

I think the only way is to pick a station and meet physically there.
While being on TS3 we can check if we were matched in the same instance.
If not it's just a matter of getting far enough and back again.
What about tonite?

If you understand that it's still a game in development, then yes. The price for the premium beta is kinda steep though, but it covers all future expansions. IMO this game screams for a HOTAS setup. I've read a few comments of the official forums from guys who struggled with mouse/keyboard, then bought a (cheap) HOTAS and were amazed at how much gameplay improved. BTW a small tip for making money: in one of the systems (forgot the name) there's a "resource extraction site" inside an asteroid belt orbiting a planet. There are lots of NPCs there, scan them for those with "wanted" status and engage. You'll have lots of fun 1vs1 fights and can easily make some Credits there.

Love this game! Flying with my CH HOTAS, tripple screen, track Ir, Obutto setup is amazing.. this is why I bought my Obutto. (Actualy for SC and Iracing.. well have to do with this for now ) The location "Federation distress call" is also a good place to go to earn some money. Pirates don't jump when they feel they can't manage the fight.

I'm making money shipping meat to the high tech sites and bringing machines back. Got jumped and killed a lot but now I've learned to run. If this was star wars I'd be trading junk with the sand people. Hoping for a cargo bird in a not to distant future. I'd like to become a toxic waste trader.

Just bought in. Got a new job and a %60 pay increase, so I don't mind if I do! Jeez, I'm moving a few hours north.
