Is there a chance that TF may come up with a flyable fw190 in the near future. Love what TF has made of CoD.

DCS WWII is offering a Fw-190 although still a bit of a wait for it. When done consider supporting it, so that it(WWII) does not reach the same fate as MG

I did read somewhere the next TF mod will have more flyable aircraft along with different theater of operations... Now what theater and what aircraft I have no Ideal.

The easiest would be for them first to make the AI aircraft that are already in the game flyable, and rumours say Wellington is the first that will get a new cockpit, others could include

Battle of Stalingrad will have a flyable 190 before CoD or DCS WWII. If it is like the other planes already in it like the Lagg 3, The Yak 1 the 109 G & F or the La-5 that is not released outside of BETA yet but is coming to the public early access soon (how soon I can't officially say because I do not know..) it will be modeled very well. Here is a post on the BoS boards with some early screenshots.. The 190 has not been released to the BETA team yet .. so I have no idea how it flies..

Hopefully at some point TF will be able to add aircraft into CoD that are not in the sim at all at this point like 190s.. Mustangs.. and Thunderbolts.. but we shall see. Even as it is if they don't add anything else it is a decent enough piece of kit for what it does theater wise.. and there is no such thing as a perfect flight sim but CoD is pretty darned good now by any yardstick.

Don't really want to see the Focke Wulf in CLOD. What I'd LOVE to see is the Spitfire MK5 and the 109F. That would keep the sides at roughly the same level while giving us Spit drivers some hitting power 'cause those .303's are for the birds! With what I've seen from these guys, I wouldn't think it would be hard or them to do.

No love for the Do17Z? Very few sims model that one at all despite its importance to the Luftwaffe.

I am with you, new "uber" planes only serves to players demand more "uber" planes.

A Spit Mk5 - to praise the claim for "guns for red's" and a Bf 109F to mach is a good compromise.

Better if they focus on improve the games options for the actual period.

Leave Fw 190, P-51, Tempest... for DCS series.

Thanks for all the replies. Your ideas are much better than my wish for the FW190. Love what TF has done for CoD. It is my most flown sim. Keep up the good work.

I remember a picture of an old Storm of War 190 some where.

I am undoubtedly in a minority, but I prefer fewer aircraft. As it is right now, I think CLOD gives a pretty good focus on the BOB scenario. Adding in later more high-performance aircraft devalues what is already present. Plus the 190 and 109F series where introduced after the BOB proper, I believe.

Now a new theater with appropriate aircraft is another matter.

I prefer another theater with appropriate aircraft, than inappropriate aircraft in the BoB theater.
Perhaps a North Afrika campaign and map could be done.

Yes for the Do17, i would only be interested in the FW190 if down the track the guys had exhausted their ambitions with the BoB scenario.

Hi guys, thanks for the kind words about TF. Currently we don't expect to jump ahead 'years' and are looking at progressing chronologically through WW2, so the 1940-42 era are most likely to see the light of day in the next updates.

The new theatre will have new aircraft, even if it is only 2-4 new aircraft and/or a couple of the current aircraft as flyables instead of just Ai.

It is all time consuming though and this has to be done in our spare time outside of real life, unlike a professional studio so we can only do what we can do when we can do it

Personally speaking though having read through this thread, I think we have just about gauged the new features and theatre pretty well

Ok I'll bit.... What are the "major anachronisms" in the CoD map...??? And how do these so call "major anachronism" effect the overall performance of the sim..???

But a 190D looks elegant and too pretty for a fight. I want my blunt nosed Wolf. It looks like it's been bloodied a few times and came out the winner.

I'd still rather not have FWs and other popular fighters added just for the sake of adding cool planes.

Just because TF are working on a new theatre, aircraft, models, vehicles, shipping, textures, maps...doesn't mean we are forgetting our roots. Other fixes will be included for the original map....but having to work out the map 'code' was and still is a long laborious process.

As we are all volunteers it's down to those volunteers who want to make changes to carry them out. References and help are always welcome so highlighting the 'major' anachronisms would help us look into your concerns.
