Yeah, it's been in the works for a while now. I don't get the sense it will be quite like the first 2, it seems a little more fast paced. I did like them before though. I hope they get a full game out soon.

Just went over the site and it looks like COD in mechs not the military open maps that allowed for tactics. The game premise is an esport fighting arena thing. But without actual gameplay I cant tell what it will be like. Anyone find any e3 videos or anythign? Also... USE MY REFERRAL LINK when you go to sign up!

You know... now and then an Arena fight between decently sized war machines is just what you need. Plus, you never know what is in the back of the minds of the developers... Definitely more appealing to me than HAWKEN. May just be a lore thing... Probably it is...

So its a bunch of mechs running around in a limited area shooting each other.
I am sorry, that is MechWarrior and MechWarrior's lack of content and gameplay have killed this kind of mechanic for me. (removed it from my hard drive)
I would honestly get bored of it real quick. Its just another arena fight clone with different skins and no change on gameplay.
I need something new.....Something interesting
Fighterops...
The only TRUE Stealth crowd funded game.
Devs said there was stuff there, but you just couldn't see it.

IIRC, the original 2 had a storyline. Missions in a war, a boss battle here and there. I hope it has a SP like that again.

These guys have been trying to put out their own mech game for ages. They have fairly good artists and 3d modelers, but I think they fall short on the programming and game design end. They apparently really love the E Sports thing, whatever the hell that is. They tried to raise money through a kickstarter for this project, but failed miserably. First off, they didn't have anything to show as far as game play. They were also asking for some ridiculous amount of money to make the game, like $500,000 and up for stretch goals. At first they refused to do any type of single player campaign, but then changed their tune when everyone told them they were only interested in donating if there was a single player campaign. I don't know them personally, but from following their forums over the years, they seem a bit too secretive, not entirely honest to people following their developments and overly optimistic of their abilities.

Yeah, that was my take. Also not a fan of the free-to-play style pricing. Just charge $60 for the full game and be done with it. Plus, to be honest after dropping $100 on DCS WWII, I'm not in the mood to shell out more cash for a title that's not ready to go.
