So, after getting bounced from the challenge quickly I figured I'd practice my gunnery and started a late war campaign. Spad VII - no problem.

Okay, slight problem.

As you can see, the gun is off center, which means the sight is useless. In fact, I've had decent success assuming my bullets will lands somewhere in the yellow circle.

Is there a trick to centering that gun? Or am I 'doing it right'?

I think it's F6 that cycles through to the gun sight. If you have head tracking software, you need to lean to the right to line your ring sight up with the front of the gun. See that little ball on a stick halfway down your gun? That's what you are trying to line up with.

F6 even works with TrackIR.
If I remember correctly, you get to the perfect gun sight with F6,
but when you move away from it, you can always press the "Center" command for TIR,
and have a normal cockpit view again.
Press F6 again, and you're in gunsight again.

Might be a good idea to assign a joystick button instead of F6.

You move your head (most serious simmers have TracKIR so you simply lean right as pilots did). Or you can press F6 (much easier that real life though as you have no movement). Heads tracking is recommended TrackIR (or something free like FaceTrackNOIR).
