A HUGE change in transmission pattern has occurred.

It's gone from scanning a large vertical slice of sky with an aeroplane in it, to just scanning over the aeroplane.

So the received signal will go from this

__________/\___________/\______

to this

____/````````````````````````````````````````````

T55-M2 on the gunners CP? Is that correct, or is this a franken-tank?

The name of that panel is T-55 (M2 is the subversion)...
... but most of the equipment is missing.

I think this is ZSU-23-4M2 mod, without SRP and antena, but with night vision - a (field) modification for the Afghanistan war...

A bit not in her specialty, but it doin' it right! (after 2:05)

P.S. Note the whistling sound before shots, is it the liquid pump?

Correct...
... water cooling 2.8 kW electrical pump with 8 atm pressure.

In the real world, a button should be pressed before firing, to start the pump.

I don't know if this was mentioned before or requested but since we have optics now (with the SA-8) could we have the optics as well for the Shilka (in order to engage without using the radar) in a future patch? Or is it already being considered?

Yes with, Volhov, Neva, (maybe KRUG), and Shilka it is considered as a possible future item.

To be honest, it might be fun to see the flying tracers...
... but I do not think, that anybody could hit a real fast plane using optics instead of using the radar.

- You need to select one of the four targeting reticle (60/120/220/300) guestimated by the target speed.
- Align target path crossing the middle of the reticle.
- Based on target relative course, you select aiming ring. (1/4 - 2/4 - 3/4 - 4/4)
- When the target is at 1000m range, you have some chance of hit...
