Ok fellow SimHQ people....help me out with Room decorating advice...yes yes. I know. It's a tragedy but I need help.

As you can see, my bedroom is very oddly shaped with oddly placed doors and windows. You walk in through the double doors. On the left side is two closet doors that swing open. On the back is a big double window. On the right is the bathroom door that swings open.

I need to fit the furniture i have 1 king bed, 2 night stands, 1 dresser drawer without getting in the ways of the doors.

Attached picture is the only thing i have been able to come up with so far...I will put the TV on the dresser most likely...but I will have to figure out how to redo wiring too since the cable outlets are on either side of the window....

So help....

Are the covers turned down on her side?

If Yes then you are good; and you deal with the right-hand door.

--- else:

Move the bed assembly to the left almost to the closet door and she has that side.

I'd move the blue-block dressers over to the left, too, for her easy access. And a big mirror above all that.

The TV is on a wall mount in the bottom right corner with a swivel on it. Wires come later (wireless).

Take the closet doors off. They just get in the way.

Yeah she would most likely be on the left side of bed.

I can move it to the left...only problem is that the backboard of the bed is really tall. It blocks most of the window. Probably not a major deal breaker since I will probably keep the shades / curtains drawn for darkness most of the time anyway.

Shes ok with not having mirror on dresser. She likes getting ready at the sink in the bathroom. And I will put a full lenth mirror in between the two closets on the wall. So I can still put TV on top of the dresser either way.

Talk about an awkward room might try turning the bed caddy corner in the top right corner of you're diagram, might look a little funny at first but may just work. That big window in the top left should have been two small windows on that wall which would allow the bed to placed in the middle of the room. Is this a track or older home? Those two types always seem to have weird room designs. But could be worse my Wife and I's first place was a 11x56 single wide mobile home we made it work but talk about tight.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

It's new construction. The double door entry, huge double closets, big window, and really tall ceiling sold the wife on the house. But the dimensions and placements of doors / windows makes it very awkward.

I agree about splitting up double windows to go on each side of bed. Would have been so much better.

Can't quite do caddy corner with the bed. Queen size bed maybe but wife wanted a king size.

The bathroom door should have swung away from the room into the bathroom. Having it open out to the bedroom was poor design.

You can always change the bedframe if you want more light from the window. Either modify the headboard or sell and replace.

I'd certainly rehang the upper closet door, so it wouldn't open into the cabinet every time... Or even remove it altogether. You could do the same with the lower one too, but it may not be necessary.

You may also not need the bed against a wall. What happens if you make an Island with bookcases/cabinets and the bed?

I once had a large bed-sitting room that I rented, and I used the oversized wardrobe and bookcases to make a small 'bedroom' and a larger living space within the room.

You should put the bed in the middle of the left side just out of the reach of the closet doors and not have the bed board touch anything.

That's a strangely designed/laid out bedroom.

I thought about having the bed going left to right...but once I put the two nightstands next to the bed you can barely squeeze past them...the bed is wide because it's king size and the room is long but not very wide.

Can you remove the 2 closet doors?

Also put the head part of the bed against the wall on top right that says 6" 5'?

I can remove the closet doors. Can't put bed on top right. Too wide. Blocks the bathroom door.
