Hello old friends and new ones too! I envy you all that are currently able to fly WOFF. I know my desktop does not meet the requirements but now that the price has dropped for WOFF I am tempted to give her a go and order. Since it has been released for a while now I was wondering if anyone has tried to run WOFF on a similar rig?

Intel core duo CPU E74000 @ 2.80GHz
6 GB installed
Nvidia GT 610 2GB

My PC is 64bit capable but still I wonder about what to expect for performance if I upgraded the OS. The problem being finances of course. I thank you for reading this post and appreciate any/all ideas/responses. Am I close to running her or hundred$ away?

When I had Vista, I also used a 2.8 GHz CPU, and OFF was always running fine on it - I never had problems.
I guess what is most out of date for you now, is your CPU - not the OS.
3.2 GHz might be minimum, I'd say - more would be even better.
But that usually requires also a change of motherboard.
Which is always a big step - and a deep crater in the finances...

I'm running an E8400 3.16G with a 460GT and it works. A little slow at the airfields but other than that fine. This is on Win7 64.

Thanks Olham and Burning Beard for your input. A better PC is what's needed. More time, more saving. I'm sure the experience will be worth it.

That CPU is gonna be taxed with all the stuff going on in certain areas, in the WOFF campaign. Especially when you're over the trenches as all the artillery going off and ground forces there (sometimes shooting each other) is where I notice the highest demand.

You may be able to get it running somewhat smoothly by lowering some of the settings relating to force concentrations & such. It may not be silky smooth either way but you still have options of increasing performance.

Win XP 32Bit
E8400 dual core (was 2.9 Ghz..overclocked easily to 3.6)
Nvidia 660 Ti

The set up is six years old (except the GPU card)

and with Ankors shadowing mod, WOFF runs absolutely fine for me.. 55-60 FPS!
