Netflix I think. They're also going to do several Marvel mini-series type shows.

I suspect within the next 5 years or so there will be some kind of Firefly spinoff (prequel, whatnot) on TV, or Netflix, or whatever delivery medium is best suited around 2020. Not a comic, but a full-on show. The interest in Firefly is just too consistent and sustained for some smart network suits not to leverage it.

Likely none of the original cast would be in it, I expect.

I'd watch it, in the hopes that some of the spark of the original would be there.

After the success of Clone Wars and now the new Rebels show, I wonder if a Firefly animated series might be a better route? Voice acting takes comparatively little time, age is irrelevant (you can make it right after Serenity and the actors won't have to look 10 years older), costs less, and you can do whatever you want WRT sets and budgets for the most part.

Better an animated Firefly than none.

As long as it isn't a Star Trek remake. As much as i love the old/newer series i'm pretty much bored with the idea of a new version.

Star Wars series? there's a concept.

Lucas was trying to get a live action SW series made for TV but they couldn't make the numbers work (budget).

SW Rebels debuts this fall IIRC.

I'll take a live action SW show, but if it's based on Jedi/Sith/Force crap then I think it's going to fail.
We want to see the cultures, alien planets, capital ships, fighters, Deathstars, blasters, walking tanks and crap like that. I'm SICK of Jedi BS. The original movies were successful because they kept that to a minimum (IMO).

Firefly and BSG2 will be hard to beat for sheer entertainment and storyline.. I would love to see an Alien Legion movie.. or series.. I guess a series would be kind of cost prohibitive.. but a movie would be great. A Firefly reboot would be nice.. but everyone os getting a bit older.. so they would have to reflect that .. and and some new characters.. but it still wouldn't be the same without Wash.

I don't know, I think Nathan would be an excellent age, as would the rest of them. He was a little bit young (looking) for the role back then. The lines seemed written for someone more aged and experienced than he looked sometimes. For an almost father type figure for Kaylee, there wasn't much difference in their ages. I know he was about 30, but he's was a youthful looking guy and still is. Plus, him being a month younger than I am, I have to say he'd be just right for a captain role.
Baldwin was the oldest of the crew members, but an older more grizzled and cranky Jayne would work any day of the week. Ron Glass of course would be no issue, other than his character being dead.

Just bring everyone back and call it a reboot, but with the same cast.

I would love that. Now if only there was a network that would be interested in doing the new show. I don't think Netflix could afford to do a scifi film with cgi effects and production values that wouldn't look cheap.

Don't bet on it.

I bet they could. There wasn't much "big" cgi in the show to begin with. I also don't think cgi has to be cutting edge to be believable enough and look great. I actually hated the look of Babylon 5 in that last crappy movie. CGI at the same level as when Firefly was on would be fine and even consistent with what we're used to.
