Firstly, sorry to all for getting all pissy during that fog mission.

Now that that's out of the way, would it be possible to get weather info listed in the briefings before starting a mission? It can be very frustrating when leading to formulate a plan, place map markers, and then find out what you've set in motion in your mind is totally impractical due to the environmental conditions you discover once the mission starts. Not much point in placing a sniper or an OP up on a ridge 600m from the objective if you can only see 150m due to rain or fog or whatnot.

I will integrate an automatically created weather report into the final TaoDamage 4 template.

100% dynamically generated based on conditions at mission start.

Parameters should be set before the weather script runs, so, maybe?

Dunno what 'real' military weather reports look like so I just did some National Weather Service knockoff.

Quick and Dirty search of the METT-T standard (is/was a standardized briefing technique used by the military) produced:

Quote:
6. Weather. Weather is analyzed using the five military aspects of weather: temperature and humidity, precipitation, wind, clouds, and visibility (both day and night). To determine its cumulative effect on the operation, weather must be considered in conjunction with blah blah blah...

I got everything meaningful in there then. Temperature can't be read from the game, only guessed, and the game's idea of humidity basically means "is it raining or did it just rain?".

Can't we just get an Adrian Cronauer met report? It tells you what you REALLY need to know.
