Is this news to anybody else? The A-6 was originally designed with adjustable exhaust nozzles?

Cool stuff, didn't know.

In the German Aviation Museum near Munich, you have a few very weird VTOL/STOL designs from that era. Thrust Vectoring was all the rage back then.

There was just low power that made VTOL nearly impossible back then. Piston engines and early jets just couldn't do it. Even helos were barely useful at that time.

Why does that pic somehow just not look quite right?

ps: I'm not suggesting this project didnt exist...just that the pic supplied looks odd/weird.
