Yeah, it happens after doing something... can't remember what. It's something like time compression, after you have compressed, you are unable to switch seats. Kind of like after you land and turn your engine off you are unable to fire. Not very handy if you decide you want to go back up. Yes, I noticed this as well. After I landed I tried to start the engine again but the sim wouldn't let me. I don't really understand if this is a planned restriction or un-intentional.

Back to the topic, I have also noticed that the views will sometimes lock up on the one I am currently on. Had a great time when it stuck on the cockpit map, I can tell you! I have never been able to lock down what is happening, but time compression is a good guess...

I just hit Shift+e to turn off the engine. But, yeah, can't restart it after landing back at base. Seems silly. You can notice as well that once you are landed and engine stopped, no controls are operating anymore.

I can restart my engine after landing. I shut the engine off by killing the mags (shift-M several times) ... maybe that is why?
Must try that out. But I always leave my engine on, when I'm sitting in my crate after landing. I like to watch the others landing, and sometimes we got attacked by low-flying enemy planes. In one case I took off again and engaged a Strutter. So I leave the engine on, until I REALLY want to quit.

I think my comment was completely missed as I did not write it very clearly. After you shut your engine down you are unable to fire your mg's No I don't think we misunderstood. It's not just the machine guns. It's the controls and the engine as well. That is what we are saying. In other words, once you shut down the engine it's as if the sim has decided the mission is over and it's time to exit the sim.

From my observations, you have a little time lapse after shutting down your engine when all controls are still operational (I would say around 30 seconds ?) After that time lapse, all controls are deactivated.
