Hi All,
Thanks for your comments - a guy has to do something between WOFF work
The models are basically as shipped from WingNut (NZ) and are 1/32 scale. I have added extra's though:
The rigging is monofilament 0.12 mm diameter (fishing line). The rigging turnbuckles on the Pfalz were made by me using very fine copper wire and 0.5 mm diameter (and less) brass tubing. On the Fokker the turnbuckles were a combination of third party parts, made from sintered metal and my own tubing.
Both aircraft have third party fabric/paper seat harnesses and turned brass and photo-etched weapon barrels. The props were hand made for me by Doug Craner.
The display cases were also made to measure and the accessories and ground work was added.
They may not be the best around but as I've not tackled aircraft kits since 1973, I was reasonably happy with the results.
I'm build the SE5a (Hisso), so will probably post some shots of that when its done.
During a tour in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the mid-eighties, I built many Napoleonic/Pre-Napoleonic models, also in 1/32 scale - here's a couple. All of the belts, bridles and straps were made from cut, thin stripes of old (soft metal) toothpaste tubes - I really should get out more!!
