Hello guys. I have my centermount all prepared. Am only waaiting for my extension to arrive. Now i have a question: If i centermount the stick and leave it mounted absolutely straight then my steering input will receive desired inputs. The problem with that is that with a centermounted stick with the stick facing straight forward the ergonomy is not that great.
What i would love to achieve is that i mount the stick slightly rotated to the left. But while it being mounted like that i want the actual axis input to not be rotated.
Since english is not my motherlanguage i findd it kind of hard to describe what i want. Because of that i made a simple drawing that shows my actual "problem". I would be greatful if anyone could help me solve this problem.
Here is the drawing

As far as I know, you can rotate the axis with TARGET. Try to read up on that in the manual.

You should be able to position the extension to rotate the grip to the location you want.

I believe someone took their W/H apart and was able to mod the base so it could be tilted slightly left for this purpose. It involved taking the stick apart though and will ruin your warranty! I'll post the link if I can find it (thought it was on the ED forums).

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

I have my stick center-mounted. The base is oriented straight, but I use metalnwood's extension and with a PS/2 connector between the base and the handle, I can rotate my handle just a little bit, 10-15 degrees, for more ergonomic grip. I do not modify the TARGET axis.

If I push the stick forward with reference to the base, my input is forward although my joystick grip is facing a bit off to the side. No problems at all, and no need to void my TM warranty.

Yep, to confirm what Ice said, 'metalnwood's extension lets you put any amount off offset/rotation onto the stick you want without affecting the direction of movement. This is because the actual extension tube can be moved and locked into position in order to change the direction of the grip whilst the actual base remains in the same position........physically rotating the extension takes about 20 seconds and simply involves using an allen/hex key to loosen the extension, rotate it and tighten back up.

I got exactly Metalnwoods extension incoming. So this will solve my problem. Thanks for the help guys!

Hi Winger,

You can rotate the virtual axis in TARGET Script using this:

RotateDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, DX_Y_AXIS, -15);

Put it in after you map the axis line.

Do you have TARGET script? I made one for ROF I posted in Warthogworld.com

Roger, Winger, it will let you do what you want to. Heck, you can rotate the stick 90 degrees but the stick input will still be "correct" since it is based on the base, not on joystick position.

I have a question about the PS2 extension cables. Regular PS2 cables coming out of mice and keybordas only have 4 wires and shielding, and they are not all conected to the needed pins. Do this extension cables have the 6 pins wired?

I'm not sure about "regular," since I never noticed any "special" ones. I simply buy an "extension cable" of the desired length (or shortest length) and use that. Note that you will have to do a little "mod" on one of the ends so that it fits.

No, a standard PS2 extension cable which only has pins 1,3 (GND), 4 and 5 connected is fine.

To my calculations if you rotate your stick to the left 15 degrees, don't you need to have axis rotated to +15 degrees?

[quote=Taipan]Hi Winger,

You can rotate the virtual axis in TARGET Script using this:

RotateDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, DX_Y_AXIS, -15);
