So my girlfriend has gotten me to watch this show and I've made a couple of observations.

1. Many of the laptops you see on the show are Alienware. I guess Dell pays some good money to CBS for that kind of advertising. smile

2. So the show has made references to scifi shows like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Terminator: Sara Connor Chronicles and Babylon 5 (this last one impressed me). What other scifi shows have they referenced? X-Files? Firefly?

Yeah, a bunch of shows and movies. And I've seen MacBooks on there too, so they do seem to spread around the tech. Lots of comic books, too.

The last one has multiple references for various nerd shows.

Nice to hear you've got a girlfriend Panzer, keep up the good work.

But what was the show she made you watch, Big Bang, oh my.

But you really have to resist watching the shows 'she' likes.
Not a good road to follow...too much of the female slanted TV.
Maybe get out and do some hunting, play some sports, get some air.
I can see you need a mentor, I can't help from this distance...but maybe you have a neighbor?
OG doesn't live far, he's helped me, got a nice Colt M-4 from him, maybe you should reach out..... biggrin

We good?

..lol...yeah.
OK, I have watched Star Trek.
But that's as far as it goes....... wink
And the wife hates it. Hates all SiFi.

I liked 'Battlestar Galactica'....and I think Panzer is the one that got me to watch it, when it came around in re-runs.
Maybe now is a good time to thank him?....lol....

The Mac's always have a sticker covering part of the apple logo, so I guess if they get anything from them it isn't much.
Really good show, with 3 more seasons to come I think. The first few seasons were the best, but I do like the addition of Bernadette and Amy.
Problem is they're moving on in age and it's going to be time to grow up soon! They're kind of running out of material.

IMO they ran out of material 1.5 seasons ago and have been phoning it in. The last couple of episodes (the last 3) were a little better, but nowhere near the quality of the first 4 seasons. Right now, I feel that they have no idea what to do with the characters, so they exaggerate their quirks to absurd levels.

I have a theory that Lorre transferred his better writers to his new sitcom. When BBT first came out, Two and a half Men also suffered a suspicious drop in quality.

Panzer, I can fly down to see you and bring a good selection of firearms. I'm sure we could set you up with something to your liking.

Oh, by the way I like The Big Bang Theory. So does Mrs Grognard.

Is it me or is Takei's shtick getting old and annoying? Had it not been for Sackoff I'd have stopped watching.

That implies that Two and a Half had a certain amount of quality to lose. I've never been able to sit through an episode. What I've seen looks like it was written by a bunch of prepubescent 12 year old boys. Even with Sheen gone, I can't stand that show.

And yet CBS just recently renewed BBT for another 3 seasons. I guess they haven't noticed any drop in quality. biggrin

It was already low quality.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
