I don't agree with having idols, but Arnold is one of my favorite celebrity personalities. If you know what's fun, you'll sign up to crush things with Arnold.
[rant]Arnold movies, I'll never pay another cent, nor will I watch anything he's involved in. I won't sign up to crush anything with him either. After what he did to California, not to mention his parting shot upon leaving the Governors Office. No thanks.[/rant]

Not to me- personally, that's their issues to work out, not mine. Seeing the world through my own eyes and watching countless situations of normal people's own ethics problems, hypocrisy and personal indiscretion, I am not affected by it much.
I don't agree with his election to governor, the mechanism to oust a sitting governor shouldn't be abused that way, generally speaking, you wait til the next election to vote someone in or out, or otherwise you have chaos- just have an election every day if that's how it works.
As a personality though, his blend of awkward machismo and comedy are entertaining. The Republican Party needs more voices like Arnold- they have too many dour, simply cranky, uptight people. That's not good in my view.
He was also a moderate and more pragmatic than an ideologue, which teed off some people to no end.

His career was pretty much in decline even before he became governor. He had a string of bombs starting in 1999 (Collateral Damage, The Sixth Day, End of Days, Around the World in 80 Days). Only Terminator 3 made money and that was only on the strength of the franchise that Cameron created.
