Having a bit of an issue using either snap view or pan view from the cockpit. When I try to use the hat on my joystick for snap view I just get an incredibly brief peek (less than a second) of the directional view. When I try to pan, my pov only moves about 2 to 3 inches in any given direction. This only happens in the cockpit; outside of the plane I can pan around just fine.

Any thoughts on what I might have cocked up? I'm not running any mods - just WOFF (which is quite brilliant, btw) patched to v1.19 on a Win7 64 bit rig with an HD7870 graphics card.

Using a MSFF2. Also tried with a Thrustmaster Flight Stick X. Same result. Checked the MSFF2 hat in other sims (including OFF) and works fine, so I don't think its a mechanical problem as far as the stick is concerned.

Seems to be a bit of a head scratcher... even tried a reinstall, but the issue remained.

Sorry for the questions, but I use TrackIR and never had to get the views working on my POV hats.

Is your POV hat being recognized as such in the workshop?

Do you have an additional "castle" hat that you can use to bind the views to?

I don't think you can unbind the POV hat, at least I wasn't able to on my CH Fighterstick.

If you are using TrackIR it works in cockpit view and overrides the POV you cant have both.
Outside views are POV only no TrackIR.
Don't turn on TrackIR and you will have POV in cockpit.

No prob..

Yes, POV hat is being recognized in the workshop. When I toggle the hat right to 90 degrees, the POV 1 field registers that as 9000, toggle back to 180 degrees as 18000, toggle left to 270 degrees as 27000, etc. etc.

Nope, no additional castle hat to bind to.

Not using TrackIR... I usually use OpenTrack, but I'm not using it in WOFF - I'd like to clear up this issue up first.

Almost sounds like some sort of file data issue...

WilliVonBill, Is your Scroll Lock button on? I use the hat switch to look around also. If I have the Scroll Lock off I get snap views as you describe. With Scroll Lock on I get smooth panoramic viewing.

Yep... Scroll Lock on.

It's as if WOFF is detecting OpenTrack even though I don't have it hooked up while I'm in WOFF. I wonder if there is a setting in a config file or something? How does WOFF detect if you have TrackIR, FaceTrackNoIR, or Open Track enabled? I don't recall seeing any head tracker options in Workshop.

FaceTrackNoIR has joystick drivers make sure you uninstall the fake "hardware" drivers for that.
Otherwise sounds like one of those headtrackers or OpenTrack is interfering.

I'd already deleted the virtual joystick drivers prior to installing WOFF per the info on the WOFF website.

Looks like OpenTrack is the culprit. Removed it and the panning came back. Too bad - OpenTrack works very, very well for me. Of course I can still use OpenTrack, just at the cost of being able to use pan view with my joystick hat.

The main thing is that we were able to track down the cause... it was driving me nuts!

Maybe add a blurb to the 'Known Issues' about the OpenTrack conflict to the FAQ?

S! and thanks to all for the help!

OK thanks W I'll add that for sure.

Maybe there are options in OpenTrack you can disable temporarily rather than a total uninstall but at least you found the culprit.
