Hi All,

After reading so many good things about WoFF I've taken the plunge and bought it. One word - WOW!

Having been flying and modding for a good few years now I was expecting the same old style of flight sim, but how wrong I was, it is brilliant!

I'm just getting to understand all the new features and especially the way the ai works and the fact that they might break off and head for home or act in some other 'human' manner.

I'm still on XP for the time being and am glad that I can at least run it, albeit with all sliders on 1. Having said that it still looks very good! One tweak I have made to give me a few more fps (now running mid/low 20's) is to reduce the size of the texture detail sheets from 4096sq to 2048. This is an old dodge from the cfs3 ETO install and I dare say if I halved it again and also that of the ground textures could pull back even more.

So thanks to Mark and all at OBD for producing such a remarkable simulation, you have a convert. smile

Oh and the music score is wonderful too, quite moving and worthy of any movie.

Cheers!

Clive

Yes it has been a while Mark, glad to see you've been busy and worked some real wonders smile. I think I'm going to like this.

A sad little tale:

My first combat flight ended up with me managing to evade the clutches of an Albatross - or more likely having the benefit of the new improved ai intelligence he felt sorry for me!
I limped home and forgetting about the lack of brakes ended up in the boundary fence. I thought I'd done pretty well considering.Unfortunately at briefing I was informed that I died of my wounds, apparently.

Jolly decent of them to tell me I thought...

Pat_Pattle (Clive);

Yes, Oh Yes!. Pretty sneaky how OBD put all those fences around the fields without so much as a hint about them! biggrin

BEWARE! They are everywhere! and at the front you get the barbed wire! OUCH!

Best to do a fly by and see if you have the stopping distance to land.

Hi Clive,

Welcome and many thanks for that and glad you find it not like other sims - that's what we aimed for - how we wanted a sim to be and not how it was 'supposed' to be wink

Hopefully if you upgrade some day you can se it at its best too.

Glad you made it Clive, it's a blast isn't it? Now you'll likely have to face the same hardship as I of splitting time between flying (or dying) in WOFF and building up CFS3 to as close to this quality as we can get it. It's a hard choice some days.
