Hi Sokol1, Thanks but I have already un-checked "cinematic" it does get rid of the motion blur but it does not get rid of the bloom/glare effect. Regards Aces

Sorry if I'm late, I see you gave up but was that effect there all the time? Are you sure that it wasn't your cockpit being lit up by your flight's landing lights? From those blue arrows it would seem that they are lined up behind you, although I haven't tried the Stuka mission so I can't be sure. But those landing lights do produce an effect looking like that one on your screenshot...

Hi,
Thanks for the thought I was taking off in the Ju-87, the effect in the IL-2 on takeoff is even more dazzling that that shown. I hadn't switched on and lights so I don't think that it could be that, I think that it's a severe glare effect.
I have given up on BoS for a different reason namely because my framerates are so poor, maybe one of these days, if and when I get a new rig I'll come back to it but I fired up Il-2 last night and was pleasantly surprised, great framerates @1920x1080, fully maxed out settings, AA, AF etc., fast loading and buttery smooth gameplay. Even though I've kept it updated with all the latest patches and developments over the years I've hardly fired it up so it was a very pleasant experience. Personally I don't think that BoS offers me anything significantly better that I've already got given my personal preferences.
Kind regards
Aces

In early access, other than the visuals, I would say you're right, it doesn't offer anything better than the old Il-2s. Four planes, a handful of premade missions, no MP, no QMB, no career/campaign...
Right now it's pretty pictures, better FM, better DM (that's still not done being balanced), and promises.
But it's an alpha, so that's not surprising. No one has ever dumped a finished game for an alpha.

There is glare but I'm pretty sure in both the Stuka mission and the Il2 one the AI have their landing lights on which makes it worse, might be wrong about the Stuka one but it is definitely the case with the Il2 mission.

@Jedimaster I take your point mate however I'm not going to have the rig to run it and it'd have to improve in many areas for me to consider it a worthy successor to IL-2. I'd be delighted to be wrong, maybe in a few years time, only time will tell, but until such time I'm quite content to stick with what I've got which is a much more enjoyable experience.
Kind regards
Aces

Well, I was just saying "you're not missing much" right now since it's just an alpha. When it's finished, you may change your mind about wanting to upgrade! The Jedi Master

@Simbo 123 SQDN Hi Paul mate, I don't think there's too much chance of that, takes a terrific lot of time and effort and I only mod for games that grab my interest. @Jedi Master Yes, at a later date we'll see but to my mind it has got to be better than what has gone before it and that includes features such as great dynamic offline campaign play, non-scripted mission etc.. At the moment it is, IMO, a little prettier etc. but not so much as to sway me. Further down the line maybe things will change I've paid for Gold access so it'll be there if I want it and sooner or later I'll have to bite the bullet and get a new rig when this one packs up, I'm keeping it going on spit and chewing gum only hope that I when it finally gives up the ghost I've got the funds to replace it with something more modern. @Master I'm not interested in online so this isn't exciting to me and, yes, you're probably right about the way that it'll go .
