Total conversion to what? What on earth would you want to convert a bomber sim into? My God, man!

Simple answer in one word. NO. Anything else would be sacrilegous. Try Pacific Fighters merged with IL2 Forgotten Battles and the Ace Expansion Pack. Also include the 4.01m patch.

The word is sacrilegious, and I'm not interested in bombing German targets as that is truly sacrilegious for me. Make a Condor bomber sim or something- you know, look out New York!

How about the adding (or the lack of adding) new aircraft models and cockpits or new maps?
Those I think are more than enough "definitions" if you want to make a Mod with German or Japanese Bombers. And as far as I know B-17II isn't "moddable enough" to allow such mods.

Only major omissions are the Ju188, the farily rare Ju88S and He177; plus a proper Stuka dive-bomber, and a Ju52 tho not a bomber by WW2. Early Do17 and a Ju86 would be nice too. There is a super range of RAF bombers over at the Italian planes site, Stirling, Manchester, Blenheim, Whitley, plus an SM79; and a Battle somewhere else; a Wellington and I think a Sunderland will come with MAW.

OK CFS3 is well provided with planes but more poorly provided with campaigns to fly them short of instant action, and the bombers won't fly close formation, but it can still be fun.

For a good mix of bombers go for CFS1.Huge amount of Dl,s for it.Blitz missions,American missions,British missions everything you want.The American bomber formations are huge and piloting a Heinkel into London with Flak,seachlights and Defiant nightfighters hitting you is something special.

Hi RAAFSpitty, sounds interesting, jsut re-installed CFS1 again myself recently. can you recommend a good place to get some of these downloads - say for the He111 and 8th AF bomber missions you refer to - are they at SimOuthouse? Netwings?

Yep I got that way too with Cfs1..(must have more.)Ended up with a huuuuge instal with mods and that,say 200 planes,about a dozen campaigns,countless terrain mods.It got way outa hand.
