I had most of the GI Joe models from the late 80's early 90's. To this day I wish I'd had the ability to see into the future, and bought two of everything. One to play with, and one to sell later on.

All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the corps!

Dad bought it at a yard sale for just a couple of dollars. My brother and I had no idea what it was until we were grown and ran across it online.

Ah, no. I played with guns, army men, and GI Joe.

One of my most favorite was the GI Joe Helicopter.

He had lots of missions, mostly rescuing Red Beard GI Joe from Stretch Armstrong. (Stretch was clearly a double agent back in the mid 70's)

That was the helicopter I always wanted but never got. Instead, my parents bought me this one. I never played with it, it just looked goofy.

My favorite toy was this Cox Stuka Dive bomber! Still have it too.

I don't think my friend and I (we were around 9) had a favorite toy really ...we played with a lot of different stuff over the years including those plastic military soldiers ...but I do remember the squirt guns we filled with urine then had a "pee war".

My first action figure was Big Jim with the Rescue Rig in the early 70's.

From then it was GI Joe.

I had that exact plane!
It flew and had working gas motor and everything.

Anybody into the Estes model rockets?

I got a couple of those ripoff toys, too. A fake Transformer and a couple of others. So irritating when parents and family try and save a couple of bucks!!

How about those GoBots? Anyone remember those?

Yes, I had a few of the real Transformers back in the mid-1980s. But I had a good number of Go-Bots. I even had the Go-Bots Command Center!

I had one Go-bot. The worst, though, was a toy that was sized for action figures like GI Joe or SW to sit in but wasn't a robot at all! It would "convert" from a car to a helicopter to a plane via moving panels and such, but it was like one of those vehicles from Mask.

Remember Mask? T-bob! MASK ON!

Hehe. I didn't have it but I remember some of my friends who did own one. Wow, definitely a blast from the past.

I almost forgot, I used to play with those little metal diecast planes with the metal wheels. I'd pry the wheels off and then play dogfights with them.
