Another month down! join us to see febuary off with a bang and boom. We've got a new mission from me tonight in which AAF forces have to clear out several rebel held positions in kavala, after that we'll give the FOB assault mission from last week another go and hope we dont get any technical issues again smile

Does everyone like the revive system? I find that it is making me play very sloppily since I always know that if I get shot, my chances of being revived -- over and over again -- are extremely good. Therefore I am perfectly willing to engage the enemy head on and roll the dice against their accuracy.

By contrast it makes it possible for our force of 10-15 to engage an enemy defender group number 40-50.

I dunno.

I think the revive system is just fine since there is no guarantee that a medic will get to you on time. I think the incentive to be cautious and not get shot is still there IMHO.

Tao we are looking into the medic system. I am very much of the same opinion as you. We have been tossing around a few ideas that should put the fear of god back into everyone.

If we could kill the AI with 1-2 shots reliably again, I would say change it.

However, there are FAR too many occurrences of me surprising an AI, firing into him, and he turns and takes me down with ONE shot to the head (I suppose) without him dying.

As long as the AI can always nail us in the head, getting around our armor, while we have to deal with their 10" Kevlar, I don't think we should really change it.

As it sits, indeed the revive system is sort of "forcing" a workaround of the AI armor changes. If a good alternative existed, I'd certainly be interested. At present, I do prefer the random bleedout time that a few of the missions use. At least with that, there is always a chance of a critical (rapidly or instantly fatal) injury to counter the willingness to just stand there and risk it.

And as someone who's NOT been revived before the bleedout more than once, I'd say the idea that we're invulnerable has a lot of holes. smile

The sunday games in particular have less players online and we often run into pretty hairy instances of loosing people due to the nature of the firefights in ArmA3 with the enemy body armour system/ their accurate shooting and lack of any suppression model for them.

If we could actually suppress the enemy when someone was hit/down then we could make things a lot more dynamic/harder for the medical side. As it is we basically have to shoot to kill the enemy (with multiple rounds even in the head) to effect circumstances where we can work on someone (not negating better use of cover and ample use of more smoke grenades!)

Even when we've had large numbers we've often lost whole squads (or worse) in some of the scenarios. The nature of the scenarios also preclude a slower gameplay if we had the normal 3-1 numbers advantage on the enemy we could lessen the risk taking and be a lot more methodical...but when it's the other way around or worse then winning the firefight esp against larger groups usually means a little more risk is involved...not to mention it's sometimes more interesting to take on the mission in a manner which involves more risk.... which is a "fun" experience in seeing how the different elements come together to win the engagements.

i think it also depends on how quick both the medic and your team mates are. I can always do a couple of missions next with the random timer in, its a single line in the scripts so its easy to add/remove smile
