I own DCS, and want to see it succeed of course in the WWII scene, But if 777 want to make more people happy they need to get themselves into Europe or North Africa/Med and sooner rather than later.
If they stick to the eastern front and don't venture into the western theatres and only DCS does, then DCS gets my money not 777.
I'm not really into the eastern front, and I'm only supporting 777 because they need to get this off the ground, plus they have given me such enjoyment with RoF.
Plus I want to see the IL2 world really get back to what it used to be.
If they don't go into other theatres then I'll just be spending my money elswhere, sadly.

Why wouldn't the pacific theater work either? I'd rather have two competing flight sims model different theaters so we have more to play.

+1. Not in it for the location, in it because I want a good looking, accurate, well running WWII flight sim. Between this and dcs WWII, I feel I'm covered.

I think 1C is more looking towards their home market (Russia) which is fine for me since I distinctly favor the Eastern Front as well. If they do North Africa (the interesting part up to early 1943, that is) I'd be fine with that, too. I don't think they're too keen on ETO or Pacific since that would be as "foreign" to their customers at home as the Eastern Front must be to someone used to thinking of Stangs, Jugs, Lightnings or Spits. wink

But just think of the extra revenue to be made by many more western based players.

Quite honestly I find anything but the done-to-death-and-back-a-few-times Western Front a breath of fresh air. That is heavily biased, I admit it, but I distinctly favor the tactical type of air war omnipresent on the Eastern Front (and in North Africa up to early 1943). Personal preference, you know. wink

Your age is showing! As the last Western Front-based PC sim was over 10 years ago (CFS3), there is literally a ton of gamers out there that haven't seen a modern sim on the western front. Now granted DCS WWII is supposed to be there, but I don't think it qualifies as "done to death" if you eliminate every sim older than 2003.

Besides, with all the usual talk about the West being more insular and only caring about their own stuff, I find it odd that people are levying "Russians only care about Russians" charges while expecting Western simmers to be enamored of a sim that can be easily labelled "Nazis vs Commies". smile
