In light (hehe) of the latest DirectX 8 to 9 renderer released by AnKor with better lighting, self shadows, sun glint and bump mapping effects I have made up another batch of comparison pics. First off, WOFF in all her stock beauty: Now WOFF with just SweetFX coloration and effects (using my custom settings) WOFF with AnKors new beta d3d8.dll with better lighting, bump mapping and self-shadows WOFF with AnKors new beta d3d8.dll+SweetFX (using my custom settings) Madmatt

It would be nice to see such improvements added to WOFF by the devs too. Even the old CFS3 engine can be made to look quite modern, it seems.
However, I don't wish to jump through all the hoops to get these modifications working, so I'd only try them if they were officially added to the sim.
Maybe it's not even possible, I don't know, but it would be cool. Obviously the devs would need to consider how much they impact the system requirements. WOFF's Western Front environment is already quite demanding for many PCs, and most people don't have access to the super computers that some people here have.
