Hey, Corsaire, you also operate from Metz-Frescaty?
I have a pilot there (Jasta 17, February 1917) - maybe you are flying earlier?

Very nice, believeable picture!

Yes, had a career with Jasta 17 when the WOFF first came out.
Having read up on the unit history and personalities, I was impressed suddenly finding myself with the likes of von Brederlow,
Shuster, Wolfe, and the illustrious Buckler, all flying their own aircraft with identifiable skins.
I was dismayed however when Metz-Frescaty didn't have the big zeppelin hanger on the airfield that is frequently described in their accounts and books frown

But loved flying the DII

On patrol with von Brederlow, Shuster, and Buckler (flying 'Mops')

I've seen quite a few but I've never been as close as some of you guys. I'm usually at higher altitudes when I see them or being shot at, which tends to be a bit distracting.

However, this is the first time I saw two trains so close:

They must've been in a hurry to move stuff that day.

Yeah, that feels so great every time, in such Jastas.

Well, the devs recently said, they would build an "Airfields add-on" pack with historical aerodromes.
I can only hope, that Metz-Frescaty with those Zeppelin hangars will be among the historical fields.

There should be good enough documantation on it, like Greg vanWyngarden's recent OSPREY book
"Aces of Jagdstaffel 17".
