WOW! What a gorgeous looking game! And the wow factor doesn't end there, the weapons are so much better looking and sounding, the AI is still great and have been flanked and surprised many times (or I'm just bad lol), the levels so far are great and I cannot understand why it got a negative response from players (reviewers seemed to like it) unless they are the 'hardcore' Killzone fans who think every game should be just like the first.

With the Dualshock 4 controller (which is by far the best controller I've used on a console, it's fantastic) the controls feel really nice and the addition of the touch pad to control the 'OWL' and the audio logs playing out of the speaker in the controller (that made me jump the first time lol) it really is head and shoulders above the DS3 one.

Played a little MP and didn't do too bad smile and can see me spending a lot of time in there. Fantastic game.

So you got a PS4 already? Sounds fun. Someone posted a picture of that game here some time ago and it did look gorgeous.

Things I really want to get this year:

PS4
70" tv
Sound bar

How long is the game?

I was also surprised to see that MGSV Ground Zeroes was coming out next month. I've been looking forward to that one as well but had no idea it was coming out so soon. I here its going to be short(kind of a weird part one of two release) but that Phantom Pain will be quite long. That and Infamous Second Son in the same month. I think gaming's fixing to get real good hear in the coming months.

I've heard the main story line for MGS:V is 2 hours long.

I've read the Game Informer article which was about ten pages and it was very informative and entertain. Also useful for helping my poor brain get around some of the story lines. I've played four of the games and still don't really get who is who lol but they're fun.

They concur. Ground Zeroes more specifically is about two hours depending on how you play it. It takes place on an island and its an enemy base. So you're always under threat and there's no real place to run to. Apparently if you are thorough on your play through, you can unlock a few other missions, all different depending on what platform you play on. And even though everyone starts in the same place in Phantom Pain, those who played Ground Zeroes will have some advantages.(I think if you rescue other prisoners in Ground Zeroes they are readily available to start staffing your own base in Phantom Pain) Also, Phantom Pain is supposed to be about 200 times bigger than the small island base of Ground Zeroes. Knowing that MGS games usually travel the globe, the game world will be made up of several sandboxes one of which we know is Afghanistan.

Apparently the retail version of the next gen copy will be about 40$ which is steep and I think they realize that. I hope Phantom Pain, though certainly huge and loaded with content, won't be the normal 60$. Otherwise we're spending a 100$ for really one game. If Phantom Pain is anything they make it sound like, perhaps it'll be worth those purchases. It won't stop me but 40$ is a bit hefty for essentially a 2 hour demo.

Saw something this morning that said Ground Zeroes (they have silly names the MGS games, this and Phantom Pain? lol) looks best on PS4.

Are you referring to Killzone there? If so, I'm not sure but I've heard around 10 hour mark so same as the the first 2.

I'm still playing it and so far my only criticism is that the story telling has taken a step back from the first 2 games and at parts I am lost as to what it happening as I am all of a sudden in a situation after a cut scene that hasn't really explained why I'm there (which is what cut scenes are there for) but it hasn't marred my pleasure playing it.

MP is great fun too and games are quite slow and tactical, certainly not a COD run and gun situation here.
