Mr. Confused here again. biggrin

How does this feature work OR can I use the OFF mission mods now in this way:

The OFF mission mod files contain active sector and quiet sector files separated into subfolders for the different periods of the years between 1915 to 1918. So, (depending on the month/year) can adding the Active sector files to \Campaigns\CampaignData\MissionTypes\Region\BattleRaging and the Quiet sector files to \Campaigns\CampaignData\MissionTypes\Region\Quiet be done without breaking WOFF??

Sorry no not OFF mission types.

Bletchley will be releasing a set soon and it will be available on our download page.

You can't use the OFF mission mods, or the initial set of missions that I posted on Combat Ace, as the mission file structure for WOFF is now different, so these will just not work.

A full 1915 set (bombers + fighters) is now with OBD for evaluation. I guess if they are OK (they are working OK for me so far) then they will soon be loaded up in the 3rd Party Mods section as a MissionTypes folder that can just be downloaded and copied into the CampaignData section.

They are already arranged in the correct folder/subfolder order for Region and for the BattleRaging and Quiet sectors - once the MissionTypes folder has been added you just need to select the 3rd Party Missions option in Workshop and the WOFF manager will then automatically select the correct missions, so there is no need to swap any files in or out manually once the MissionTypes folder has been added.

One thing to note: the mission briefings are for the Flight Leader - so if the Briefing instructs you to fly at a certain altitude or to do certain things this really only applies to you if you are the Flight Leader: as a wingman you just have to follow the Leader and be prepared to protect him from attack or to take over the mission if he has to turn back with engine failure (although you will have to take the initiative when you reach the target in the Spy Drop mission). Some things are impossible to do anyway - you will just have to use your own imagination when told to do things with a camera, a spark transmitter, an old infantry boot or Beatrice/Greta and her pigeons...

Just have fun and enjoy - once you get bored with them it is easy to switch back to the standard set. Also, you do not need to start a new pilot career - you can switch these mission on and off via the Workshop setting with no need to change pilots.

"an old infantry boot" - does this mean there's a mission to insult & challenge an enemy squadron by dropping them on their airfield? There was an old Biggles story when the Hun did just that - the suggestion that they should go join the infantry drove Biggles mad!

The current version of Bletchley's mission file is now on the user mods page now (get to it via Downloads page for example).
http://www.overflandersfields.com/User.html

Remember we cannot directly give any support for it, any questions best to ask Bletchley.

Also note it's not complete yet but more will be added by Bletchley.

[note: file temporarily removed until a newer version is complete]

What about the 3rd party mission types after 1.16? I can't find them on the website anymore. Meaning they are included officially now?

No worries, they are back smile

Your log book and Debrief should now show now be linguistically enriched, thanks to kaa, Shredward and Craeghorn. I am just off to fire up the BE2 and find out...

Thanks for these missions.thumbsup

I noticed that the bomber mission files for 1915 were the only ones adjusted.

Do you have an estimate to when you'll be releasing the other files with your adjustments?

The Fighter missions for 1915 as well, yaan98, but they are not so detailed as the bomber ones.

I guess I will start looking at the old OFF missions that I did, starting with 1916, to see how these can also be adapted and enriched in the same way - but for the moment I am just enjoying 1915... a great many thanks to WM and the OBD team for making this 3rd party mod possible smile

Any feedback on what works, what people like and don't like about them would be useful.

Also, if anyone else wants to have a go at creating a set for the later years then I have no objections. When done you can try them out first before releasing them by just popping them into your MissionTypes folder to replace the ones that are already there, and then see what happens. Use the existing ones as a guide. If they don't appear to work as intended just figure out what went wrong, go back and edit them and try again.

I've done 6 missions with the RFC3 in May 1915. Love the variety, so far and it works fine here, too!

Bletchley are there missions for Germans and French or is it just the Brits?

"Edit"

Never mind I downloaded and looked seems to be all nations.
I'm thinking I need the Fokker Scourge to enjoy these early year missions.

That sounds like a reasonable approach especially since they can be easily edited.

In your OFF mission files for 1915 you had more "lone wolf" type missions than you do for WOFF.

So, if this is true, then would the game give me more "lone wolf" type missions if I just add more of them?

Also, I don't understand this part:

.....
none
none
0 <------ why is this either a 1 or 0?
