Ahhh countless hours spent between Photoshop and InDesign. I might update the title treatment and possibly the front a bit... seems lacking. But good enough for 1.0 neaner

Wow, impressive work Phait! Unfortunately my BMS copy is purely electronic, but if I move it to a DVD case I will certainly be tempted to slap this baby on it!

Thanks!

CD case version

The 2nd page goes inside the bottom/back of the case and is folded along the dashed lines.

Nice work on both!! Love the CD one by sidelee72 as well! Great first post too and welcome to SimHQ!

Any work on the fictional game manual covers?

Nice one, they look brilliant.

Is there any chance I could get one of those CD covers?

Regards,

Ben

This is probably a dumb question, but after you guys made these beautiful DVD case inserts, how did you create the DVD to place in the case?

Burn it to a blank DVD??

While I love the idea of this, I figure that the DVD will become moot as soon as 4.33 is released. biggrin At least that's my lazy excuse.

Hey - Ice,

I didn't phrase my dumb question very well, but what I was trying to determine was whether these fellows were burning a backup DVD of their current Falcon BMS 4.32 directory or burning an up to date Falcon BMS 4.32 installation DVD. duh

However, you make a good point on waiting to burn anything to a DVD until Falcom BMS 4.33 is released. cheers

Why would you burn/backup your BMS directory? All you really need is a backup copy of your .key file and maybe the .cfg file.... I would've thought you'd burn/backup the BMS installers, plus any theatre installers of your choice. Then again, we go to the argument that these are only good until the next patch/update/release comes out. So I keep mine on an easily-accessible folder. Not like HDD-storage space is precious these days! biggrin

What this project is perfect for is getting new BMS players --- suppose someone was playing sims and wanted to try BMS but either had a poor internet connection or couldn't be bothered signing into the BMS website. Burn the installers, buy a blank DVD case and slip on one of these covers, and hand it to said prospect simmer.

BTW... how can I "burn" the image onto a DVD for a cool custom-looking DVD??

- Ice,

I was just curious as to what their purpose was in creating this beautiful DVD case artwork.

I also keep all my BMS installers in a folder on my data HDD and they certainly could all be easily burned onto a DVD for use by a newcomer to BMS.

Would lightscribe be capable of creating the desired image on an appropriate DVD?

Hmmm.... purpose? Maybe some like having a physical copy to put in their "library" of games? I know I used to dream of having such a library.... until they stopped doing boxes for games. If they still did so and I had physical copies of my Steam games collection, I surely would add BMS to that library.

As for lightscribe, never used it....

Well at the end of the day it is personal choice.

And I will be putting the BMS files onto a CD and using the covers above for both a DVD box and CD cover.
