There's a T-34 not 20 miles from where I am.Driven past it many times but never stopped to have a look. One day I will.

It's not that one btw.

It's funny what you can find.

There is a Matilda Infantry tank about 10 miles West of Mareeba on the Atherton Road in North Queensland Australia. Just parked in a driveway.

"You'll never take me alive" said he,
And his ghost may be heard if you pass by that billabong
"Who'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me?"

One is definitely there...

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=pages+w...ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ

The graffiti appear to have changed? But both appear to be T34-85, though the turret is facing the opposite side, the hull is aligned the same?

It is the lot at the corner of Page's Walk and Mandela Way.

It is visible in Goolgle.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

One of the strangest things you can go see in London is a Soviet T-34-85 tank which was placed on a plot of land next to Mandela Way and Pages Walk. It apparently was placed here by a developer who was annoyed with Southwark Council for not granting him planning permission to build here. They did grant him permission to put a tank here, although it’s not certain if they knew tank meant T-34 rather than septic tank! The turret is turned towards the council offices.

The tank used to be part of the Czech Army and is owned by Richard Gray who’s a property developer who thought it would make a good treat for his then seven year old son. It appeared in 1995 the film Richard III, the same year it was bought by Richard for £7000 from a Kent military salvage dealer. Gray lives nearby and seems to pick losing battles often, he lost quarter of a million by taking his son’s expensive private school to court for expelling him.

The tank gets regular repainting by different artists, both officially and unofficially, and it’s worthwhile going to check it out every so often as it will have a new lick of paint. It’s been painted to look like a taxi cab in the past, and also painted bright pink. The tank made its way into a book called Derelict London.

I know of a tank in Torrens st. around the corner to the Angel Islington, not sure what but I think its British.
Theres also a Russian military truck in Oliver's Yard in the City.
I'll have to try and get some pics so the experts here can identify them smile

I didnt know about the T-34 though, I'll have to check it out.

Fairly sure the Torrens St one is an FV433 Abbot 105mm SPG.

This should be a faster direct link to the tank location:
http://goo.gl/maps/BXktN

Once you have one of those salmon coloured inverted teardrops
on your google maps page, you can never get rid of it, you just
have to close and reopen; and all links you try to make will
centre on it. You can, however, change its location by setting
your cursor somewhere else and right clicking, and selecting
"what's here?".

My town needs a flipping tank. Stick in one of those damned evil traffic circles they keep sticking all over. Well right now there are a few Bradleys in the National Guard armory. But NOT THE SAME!

They moved the tank from the centre of the "traffic circle" in town to a place where it would not be in the road so much biggrin

We had a tank training facility here but they have sold off all their Leopards.
