stupid woman - she learned a lesson, what is worse, from the behavior of the cat and the dog, probably she is the owner of the cat and tossed it out from her house.
I don't think that's her cat. Owners should have a sense of their pet's attitude. I had both cats and dogs, I have their characters memorized. Given most situations, I know how each would react. If scared I know who's gonna run and who's gonna dish it out.
As a general rule though, don't corner an animal, always give it a means of escape.
She provoked it, hopefully it's a lesson learned, dont back a animal into a corner (she did), and dont sit and throw snow or anything, or even kick at an animal (she did).
ooooh, the cat defended itself against a larger animal, and it's the cats fault?
charge her *** for animal abuse, and housing a unlicensed animal... hahaha.

I don't buy for a minute that she was "just trying to shoo away" the cat. Fact is that the video starts with both the woman and the cat well beyond the chain-link fence gate and the door of the home. The cat had already been effectively "shoo-ed" at that point, yet she continued to kick snow in its face.
She got what she deserved, imo. Too bad it was put down for defending itself.

Cats aren't defenseless. They can do good damage against exposed, soft skin of a human being. I wouldn't want one clawing and biting at my face and eyes, but then again I don't understand the meanness towards animals that people can have.
I've never had a cat stand its ground against me, usually just moving towards it is enough to get rid of one. Not necessary to provoke its defense.
It's like my little Jack Russell, he is not an aggressive dog at all and he lets the grand kids poke and prod him and he takes it but still I keep my eye on him. I know what he can do, I have seen what he did to a rodent he caught, it was chopped meat in less than a second, the killer instinct is still in there.
He is old for a JR being past 14 years, and he is about a year older than his parents were when they died but he shows no sign of slowing down, he is now stone deaf and works to hand signals. At the moment he is on his cushion sleeping beside me.
Man he snores bad tho!

maybe she should have watched the video herself - after attacking the Cat, he defended itself.
also, typical over-reaction in euthanizing a Cat to test it for rabies or whatever, any veterinarian can do that with by a physical exam of the cat and by looking at his behavior.
At least that stupid woman learned a lesson for life - a Cat or a Dog is an individual, some when attacked defend themselves any way they can, a small cat lounges at you.
Makes me glad to know I've put a bunch of cats in the ground. The lady wasn't hurting the cat and was just trying to get it to go away after the cat attacked a dog. The cat just was vicious and I hope it felt pain being put down.
