Hellshade and Pol

I just downloaded "WingsOverFlandersFieldsPhase4_PatchV1.12.zip" from OBD Website then I unpacked it to a Temp directory.

My current version is V1.6 - 4192g. And WOFF is running fine for me.

But when I attempt to run the Version 1.12 Patch installer .EXE file As Administrator (Win7 64bit), I am getting a Setup Error window popup:

Setup cannot find your Over Flanders Fields installation.
This patch cannot be installed.
------

When I click the OK button, I immediately get another Error window popup:

Patch installation cancelled. OFF installation not found.

When I attempted to install the new "Skins_Pack1", I also get the same errors as shown above.

What is the work around?

I downloaded both "WingsOverFlandersFieldsPhase4_PatchV1.12.zip" and "WingOverFlandersFieldsPhase4_Skins_Pack1.zip" again per your instructions.

I tried to install each of them again - But No Joy! I am getting the same set of error messages. The Installer cannot find the Over Flanders Fields installation.

Did you install woff in it's default location, or pick another drive/folder?

When you install the patch, does it get to "ready to install" and show you the location of Woff?

Which drive and folder path did you install WOFF into, OlPaint?

The patch installer does not give me an option to change the install directory location. I only get the UAC window from Win7 asking for autherization to run the installer. I do not get prompted to verify or change the WOFF directory.

My WOFF directory is as it was originally installed. I have not changed it.
C:\OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\.

WOFF v1.6 runs as advertized with no issues.

I am unable to install "Skins_Pack1" either.

Is there a .TXT or .XML file that lists all the installed file locations? Maybe I have a corrupted "files location" record.

Maybe I should uninstall/reinstall WOFF?

I am hardly a Win 7 expert but if you cannot install the Skin Pack either I think your install of WOFF is bad as registry entries should be telling the installers where to put things.

I am coming to the same conclusion. The WOFF Registry items must be corrupted.

I have removed my old WOFF directory.

Can you recommend a registry cleaner utility that will remove all traces of WOFF before I reinstall?

Do you still have the folder named "Toolbox" in the OBD folder?

WOFF included its own registry remover.
If it is already gone I guess I would give the freeware program called "CCleaner" a try. Seems to work well for me.

As a P.S. I have my WOFF install on my D: drive - works just fine there.

All Righty Then... Duke, you were right. The Windows 7 registry was corrupted.

I uninstalled WOFF, I cleaned the registry with CCleaner, I reinstalled "WingsOverFlandersFieldsPhase4_1.0". This time I was asked to use WOFF directory or Browse. Next I installed "WingsOverFlandersFieldsPhase4_PatchV1.12" with no issues. Again I was asked to use WOFF directory or Browse.

So now I have WOFF "V1.12b - 4204" installed and running.

I crossed fingers...Next I installed "WingsOverFlandersFieldsPhase4_Skins_Pack1". I seemed like forever, awaiting the Win7 UAC window to popup to run installer As Administrator. After several minutes, I halted the install and disabled Norton 360 Antivirus and disabled Carbonite Backup. I ran the Skins_Pack1 again. This time the UAC came more quickly. I was surprised how large the Skins_Pack1 collection took to load. Several tens of minutes...I lost track. But much to my relief, the install completed successfully.

Where do we look to see that the new skins are loaded and available to use in WOFF? The WOFF Version is still "V1.12b - 4204" in Workshop.

A way, and the only way I know of, you can tell if it installed is your "skin" folder will go from about 4 GB in size to 15 GB+.

And congrats on getting back into the skies!
