I've been bounced on numerous occasions, and it's absolutely true your wingman don't always see them, especially if you're in a squad rated Good or below. I was once nearly sliced in two by a vertically diving Triplane that nobody in my flight had any idea was there.

I get bounced far more than I like (which I like), and it definitely keeps me on edge.

I'm ashamed to say that I was leading a a flight with three other Aircos to patrol enemy lines and well before we even got to the front I looked back and realized I only had two planes with me. So after a minor panic I turned around and, sure enough, a couple miles back our missing plane was dogfighting an E.III.

Now I can no longer complain when I'm the trailing plane and no one seems to notice when I get bounced.
