Anyone else excited about this? The original (and Warband) was one of my absolute favorite games ever, in the top 5 for sure, though Fire and Steel felt stale and I never played it much.

It sounds like they are beefing up the campaign and battle AI, adding more realistic features, like massing armies from different lords.

I hope to see larger battle maps and (obviously) more combatants per battle. Better battle command AI would be great, with armies staying in formation, using cavalry to flank, etc. Also, being able to choose a starting formation rather than having to organize your group on the fly at the opening of a battle with the enemy already bearing down (unless of course your group is ambushed)... [digression into an endless wishlist blah blah blah blah].

Yes larger battle maps and better landscape in them is what Im hoping.

I think I'm the only person on Earth who liked Fire and Sword the best of the 3 released games so far. Loved charging by troops on my horse firing rounds into them as I passed.

Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.

This is likely a day 1 buy for me. I really enjoy Mount and Blade. Any word on a release date timeframe for Bannerlord?

For me as well. I paid for M&B when it was at beta 0.8* The free demo up to level 7 got me hooked.


Nothing firm that I've heard. But reading the few developers' blog posts, it does look like they're hard at work.

I am a level 60 in war of the roses.
I look forward to playing M&B2 if it is more like that and less like chivalry.

The combat style utilized by War of the Roses was first seen in the original Mount and Blade. Age of Chivalry it most assuredly is not.

The question is will it be better than deliverance and will it fall within a short historical time period AND most importantly place. I did not enjoy the original mount and blade setting with all of its fantastical mixed up armies and its huge everything gets thrown in if it matches a 500yr period and comes from anywhere in the world.
I like my first person slashers to be kind of like fighting a real battle still with the historical combatants.

Mount and Blade napoleon did a fair job of that.
