thats a cool way of doing things, most councils would just want to knock down the old bridge and get a nice new shiny one.

Well, this way is a lot cheaper, as long as the original
hardware is still in good shape. Mounting those cantilevered
deck pieces looks pretty precarious. I don't think I'd
want to be an engineer on that sort of project.
