Another good one that's very well used is 'disassemble'. It's not a word. The correct word is dismantle. Odd, I've never mantled anything for my children, but I've assembled many things. The Jedi Master One of the vagaries of the English language I'm afraid. Our language is full of similar peculiarities. Nonetheless, Billzilla is correct. I too have assembled many things, some of which later had to be dismantled.

VonBarb's post reminds me of the mis-pronunciation of forte (pronounced like 'for-tay' here). Or "cache." I was watching some show on the military channel and an SF trooper mentioned finding a weapons "cashay." It was like fingernails on a blackboard (which doesn't bother me one bit, but seemed like a good analogy just the same LOL.)

I too have assembled many things, some of which later had to be dismantled. Which reminds me that you do not addend an addendum, you must append it, or you can simply add it. An addend is just a number in a sum.

Disassemble is in the dictionary though,as in to disassemble- deconstruct/tear down/ pull apart. The cheap & nasty dictionaries.
