VonBarb's post reminds me of the mis-pronunciation of forte (pronounced like 'for-tay' here).

It's not a word. The correct word is dismantle.

Odd, I've never mantled anything for my children, but I've assembled many things.

Or "cache." I was watching some show on the military channel and an SF trooper mentioned finding a weapons "cashay." It was like fingernails on a blackboard (which doesn't bother me one bit, but seemed like a good analogy just the same LOL.)

Forte can be correctly pronounced "for-tay", but only when discussing loudness in musical performances (It is Italian, meaning loud).

When describing a strength/talent it is the French Fort/Forte which is pronounced "Fort".

There is also a similar confusion with Cache - this is pronounced "Kash" (and is where cash comes from (a store of goods or valuables stored in a hiding place) - a promissory note against 'bank held' gold or silver).

There is a word pronounced "Kash-ay" - cachet, which means a degree of quality/authenticity.

Which reminds me that you do not addend an addendum,
you must append it, or you can simply add it.
An addend is just a number in a sum.
