Santa brought our youngest child an Alienware laptop for Christmas, and though it's a great gaming machine, it lacks a dedicated number keypad. Since I raised him up right :), he's used to using the keypad for first person shooters (he's a lefty like I am) and is having trouble adjusting to the new layout, so I thought I'd pick up a kepad for him to use, to facilitate his gameplay.

Any recommendations? Is input lag ever a problem with wireless units (it used to be back in the day) or has all that been sorted (he plays at a desk, so having a wired unit would be ok, if need be)?

Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

2 suggestions, since this is about gaming and not typing:

Logitech G13

Razer Orbweaver

I wouldn't worry about the sticks being on the right, that isn't the main purpose. Program the keys how you want.
If he doesn't need a full keyboard for more comfort typing, this would be a good way to go and a space saver.
Right now I have the G13, but I plan to try out the Razer before long due to the mechanical keys. I don't know the weight of the Razer, but the G13
is nice and heavy with a metal plate on the bottom weighing it down, as well as some sticky feet.
Also it's nice having the keys in rows and columns, like the numpad, as opposed to offset like WASD keys.

Thanks for the suggestions, Raw. I'll give both of them a look.
