And we have yet another reboot of a film that isn't even 30 years old yet,

As far as these recent reboots go I went through mildly interested to deeply uninterested to bored some years ago and now I'm just downright hostile.

I thought Robocop was bad enough but you don't mess with the Terminator. What's the next sacrificial iconic 80s movie to get led to the altar?

Aliens?

Predator?

Safe to say I shall not be seeing it.

Other than some cheesy moments, and strange lack of explanation for Worthington's character as prototype candidate, I loved Terminator Salvation. I wish they would continue into the war like they did with that movie. The original movie was great, but the future fight is what I've always been interested in. Sadly the Sarah Connor Chronicles got cancelled just before showing us more of the future events too.

I've yet to see the Sarah Connor Chronicles, promised myself Netflix in 2014 and hope it's available.

SCC was really good. I was sad to see it canceled but that seems to be the way of good shows. Replace it with something you can make cheaper like all that reality crap.

They have the discs, but streaming it came down a year or two ago.

reboot? I thought T4 deserved a final sequel before reboot.

The franchise rights were sold to another studio so it's a whole new ball of wax now. Imho, the Terminator series is mostly crap without Cameron.

I don't understand the continual sales of the rights from one place to another. Why won't an established studio buy it instead of all these fly-by-night places that collapse right away?

All faith in these 80s reboots was lost with the abomination that was the new red dawn. Downright criminal.

I'm sure Chris Hemsworth wants to forget about that one.

There are some that could probably be done alright. Comedies stand on their own, remake or not, so pick one. Bachelor Party for instance.

Any news on who they intend to use for the Terminator?

Imo, Arnold was scary perfect for the role in 1984. His size alone made him menacing. Not saying that they couldn't cast another unknown body builder type for the role since his dialogue was so limited in the first movie. No matter who they cast I don't see it doing any better than the other reboots that have flopped recently since I fully expect the old audience to criticize it mercilessly for not living up to their expectations.

Until someone is cast, it's all just rumors.

I really, really hope the remake brigade never get their claws into Ghostbusters.
