I'll stick with these:

Tom Petty, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison.
(may have just about squeezed John Lennon also of course-his amazing voice would have fitted in perfectly I'm quite sure).

Mix and match any artist is fine

Yeah, definitely one of my Supergroups.

This!

The Wilburys were great. Such a crying shame Roy had to leave us so early!

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I'm DEFINITELY going with OG's selection.

I'm not sure, but I think there might be enough topics about military stuff in this forum, so there shouldn't be any reason to hijack this one.

A very good current supergroup, imo, are Them Crooked Vultures.

John Paul Jones on the bass, Dave Grohl on the drums and Josh Homme (from Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age) on guitar.

Also, while I'm not sure they are mainstream enough to be called a supergroup, King Hobo, a group of Opeth, Clutch and Kamchatka members, are really good too.

Supergroups mainly refers to collaborations between well established artists, like the Travelling Wilburys.

One of my favorites is The Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Weylon Jennings and Kris Kristoffersen):

A couple of other 'supergroups' I like includes Demons & Wizards (Hansi Kürsch from Blind Guardian and Jon Schaffer from Iced Earth)

And Transatlantic (Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings, Pete Trewavas of Marillion and Edison's Children, Mike Portnoy formerly of Dream Theater and Neal Morse formerly of Spock's Beard)
