I used to get an occasional crash, never enough to really bother me too much, mostly between rounds too. Now since the update, if I join a server I have less than 10 seconds before I get the black screen with the flashing cursor in the top right and then nothing..not even a server message in Battlelog as sometimes happens. I'm not angry Dice, I'm more dissapointed. Is anyone else getting this? If not what are your impressions of the fixes changes? Please share as it looks like I won't be playing for the time being. I'm too busy with other stuff at the moment to go looking for workarounds, I'll just wait for a fix while I get on with other things...

Try updating punkbuster as it never updates itself after a game patch.

I'm too busy with other stuff at the moment to go looking for workarounds, I'll just wait for a fix while I get on with other things... Welcome to the Battlefield! I had the exact same problem with BF3 and did the Punkbuster dance multiple times, but it never worked 100% (it did seem to make them less frequent, but they still happened). Then I thought maybe it was something to do with my network settings; but after a few days of searching/troubleshooting, it led to nowhere and I gave up. Funny thing is, I did a complete wipe/fresh install of Windows 7 + all games and the problem got worse; it "locked up" at the flashing cursor screen at almost every level change. IMO they will never fix it as: A. Most people just deal with it and move along B. In the long run, they still make millions of dollars even with these "minor" bugs, so why bother fixing it when they can release more DLC instead? But until the day that I see they've 100% fixed it, I will never buy another game from DICE

It’s running fine for me. I’m thinking PEBCAK might be going around here at SimHQ. Hell, Boko seems to think it’s Friday! Lol, was reading my post back to work out what you were on about, then I checked the thread title. Well my sense of what day it is is getting messed up by my new shift pattern, doing a 'four on four off' at the moment, so for me yesterday was Friday. As it turns out punkbuster was fine, did a repair Install which found another 89mb of files to download, weird why it wasn't done in the first place, maybe a slightly corrupt download? Anyway I've got some studying to do, and a deadline to meet. Must.....not......play...
