Ladies and Gentlemen!

A playable tank being prepared for Steel Fury (not Steel Armor). No guessing games, because its really obvious by now what it is:

"It's fascinating to think that all around us there's an invisible world we can't even see.
I'm speaking, of course, of the World of the Invisible Scary Skeletons."

You have a couple of choices:

SPM 2.0 or NTA 1.7. Follow the recommended installation sequence given in the links.

I think it might be suitable for GTOS as well,

I'm new to Steel Fury, just picked it up a couple of months ago. Still trying to get through the training mission!
Anyone care to explain what the differences are between the mods SPM 2.0 and NTA 1.7? Am I right in thinking they are not compatible with one another?

- NTA 1.7 is a work in progress, with frequent updates.
- SPM 2.0 has been stable (more or less) for some months now.

If you want the convenience of downloading and trying out Mission Packs 1 - 3, you will need NTA 1.7.
(The mission packs are a grab-bag of user missions, most of which were released separately in past years).

SPM 2.0 itself has plenty of new user-made missions and campaigns, in addition to those in the stock game, so you won't be running out of content any time soon.

One important point to emphasize. biggrin Both versions let you play such all-time favourites as the Tiger, Panther and Tiger II tanks.

In theory, since NTA 1.7 is built on top of SPM 2.0, there should be some compatibility between the two. However, there's been a lot of tinkering and outright reinvention since then, so don't count on it,

Thanks for the answer Kyth, appreciate it.

Just to be clear though, is the difference between the two mainly the various mission packs that each mod uses? Or are some tanks not available in one or the other?

I guess I wasn't clear. There're more new tanks in NTA 1.7, of course. salute

They're used in many of the 'Mission Pack' battles.

I recommend trying both versions; 2 installs. That's what I do. I personally find Mod 2.0 more stable and less buggy. A few less tanks/features of course but as Kyth mentioned plenty of content and some of the early mission packs, 1.1 and 2.0 work with it.

NTA 1.7 is more comprehensive in the sense that it incorporates lots of new stuff that came after 2.0 which was released one year ago. But the constant updates/fixes and new additions released continuously mean you have to keep updating your install and expect bugs and problems more or less frequently.

Thus both make sense so you have the full picture so to speak.... laser
