Good episode last night, it's been nice to have a diversion from the four walls of the prison.
Next week looks a little silly though. Lets have another enormous firefight to clear out all the incidental characters and leave us with the principles again. We shall see.

I'm kinda disappointed in the last episode. I would have preferred to see "good governor" longer, see him struggle more with his inner self longer. I think a lot could have been done with that.
But... they need another battle for the prison I suppose. And this time Gov brought a tank.

(I'll be vague for those that haven't seen it yet) Amazing episode and very sad. A fitting ending for those that didn't make it. Like they said on Talking Dead, the more important the character, the harsher the death will be. Does the character more justice than dying of the illness. Hate to wait for Feb to continue, but I guess with short seasons they need to stretch it out.

(I'll be vague for those that haven't seen it yet) . My personal hint to people who've not seen the latest episode of a particular program: Don't be reading forums, comments, articles etc about that program until you have caught up! Otherwise you have only yourself to blame for seeing spoilers. As my oldest son found out by checking his Facebook page before watching last nights episode of WD.

YEah but there's always one #%&*$# who posts a blatant spoiler in their Facebook post. Impossible to avoid those. Thankfully I saw last nights episode, which was really great, before reading FB and seeing e spoiler someone posted. I have now hid their comments in my feed.

WOW, just watched it... incredible mid-season final.
BUT, couldn't it all of been avoided, if Rick just had his 2 best snipers, one take out the Gov and the other the tank driver standing up in the turret?
Great show, great episode.
Agreed! All that time to set up and no one called targets! That drove me nuts. Of course, they coudn't hear what was going on, but when they say Rick draw, 3 should've had a bead on the Gov and tank guy at least. I just wanted to avoid spoilers for those in a different time zone that might not have it on yet, or were going to watch later on dvr--which is actually what we did, seeing it an hour later. After 12 or 24 hours, all bets are off. LOL

If the Gov was standing over MY father with a sword, I would have my rifle aimed dead center on his chest, and just as soon as I even thought he was going to swing that blade I would light him up like Times Square.

This is a recurring theme though. Same thing happened last season with Merle when he had a shot but chose to start popping underlings first instead of patiently waiting to put one in the Guv when the next opportunity arrived. And to be fair it also happens on practically every other TV Drama Along with endless magazines and general poor aim. Good episode though. Particularly liked how the closing frame was straight out of the comic.

When the walkers came in, did you see the woman from the first episode that tried to feed Rick to her head in a bag? He never put her down after she died and she came around. The rest of the season is supposed to be pretty hardcore. They showed a clip from the next show, but could only show a few seconds to avoid spoilers. It was Carl luring a pair of walkers from a house and down the road. The writer said it was straight from the comic, but I have no idea what that means. Made it sound like the sh!@'s going to hit the fan again.

While I'm still enjoying Walking Dead it is starting to get a bit thin with me.
Amazing how they're able to headshot zombies left and right while somersaulting or running and yet can't hit one stationary guy with so many guns already aimed at him.
I read that Hershel died in the comics as well but how the TV series handled it just made me go "yeah right". And when a show starts to get that kind of reaction it's like a snowball effect where you start nitpicking and just looking for stuff that's wrong. In a zombie show, where the realism threshold is already low, that's saying something.

I would guess that the vast majority of the WD TV audience has never read the comics, myself included. So we don't compare the show to something we've not read.
Yes there are a lot of things to nit pick if one is inclined, I'm not.
Thus far I see no clear signs of the WD franchise dwindling.

Thus far I see no clear signs of the WD franchise dwindling. I haven't read the comics either. I was reading an analysis of AMC's WD on a site and they wondered whether the ending would follow the comics. I'm comparing AMC's WD to AMC's WD... where they seem to headshot every zombie with ease and yet can't kill a tall man with so many guns trained on him. And Rick who has no problems hitting everything in the head couldn't shoot the governor standing on the other side of the fence. It's all about consistency in the story telling, not bending it just to suit the moment. I don't know how Hershel was killed in the comics but I'm willing to bet that it makes more credible sense than how AMC handled it.
